Katie always works for me. Here's the thing though with Maggie the fact that a bulk of female viewers are wondering why Bruce is dating this woman and the male population wishes she meets her demise by the joker proves she's an unpleasant distraction. TPTB missed their mark with Maggie because audiences are suppose to get behind their TV and movie couples.

That's not true. I know lots of people who find Maggie fairly good looking in addition to thinking she will make a fine Dawes.

On a side note, when Katie was first cast in the role, I distinctly recall people on this very board making very snide remarks about her looks, as well.

People are always going to have something to nitpick about, but this particular subject isn't really all that important.

If you think Maggie works in the role, then sit back and enjoy her performance. If not, just get over it. Everyone isn't going to look the way we want them to.

I agree, she looks very sweet and gentle and the shorter hair and lighter make-up suit her well. She also has beautiful skin and a lady-like presence.

There's a picture a fan took of her last summer during the Chicago filming and she looks gorgeous as Rachel there!

Hey why dont we do something that actually matters to the movie and compare their best movie roles.....hmmm yeah thats a good idea lets see which one gives us the best performance in a batman film, thus making the movie the best it can possibly be. I vote for Maggie. Looks are secondary. You cast a movie for the acting and most if not all movies that dont are just looking for cheap entertainment.

That's the one. I like her expression and the way her hair cups her face. Since we're talking about her appearance, I understand she's not everyone's type (which is fine) but personally I think she'll look very, very pretty in this film.

Actually, if I were gay, it'd be Maggie and not the one whose doing some sort of weird squint. Honestly, I find Katie entirely unexceptional looking. There's none of that 'wow, I'd go gay for that!' reaction that someone like say, Angelina Jolie, invokes.

I think the reason it keeps getting into the hot/not debate is because when it comes to acting, there is no debate about whose better.

There is no doubt Maggie is a better actor. But the fact remains these are the two most mundane looking chicks to ever play actresses in a Batman flick. Katie Holmes is far better looking though, and she is cute at best.
