She dies, Eckhart said in an interview that Dent has had a hard time, his face burnt off and his Fiancé killed. We also see in the trailer the Joker throwing her off the roof of Wayne's penthouse.

After all it makes sense to me that it would take the death of someone Bruce loves for him to even consider crossing that "I don't kill" line which apparently he nearly crosses with the Joker.

Yeah i read that same interview. But are we 100% sure thats his fiance? Maybe his fiance dies in the beginning of the film then he hooks up with rachel? Or maybe Theres just a different way [BLACKOUT]she dies[/BLACKOUT] rather than off the roof.

She's gotta be his fiance... two face needs a downward spiral, just like Batman does for plot purposes, and shes the only woman connected to both of them. And I don't think Bruce would push the issue so hard of "I always thought we'd be together" if he wasn't about to really loose her (ie marriage) if she was just dating around he'd probably wait and let her get used to the whole idea.

Why would he not? Whether she was getting married or not, seeing a woman you think will you might be in love with going out with somebody else is going to hurt.

Why? Well because of narrative plot escalation, thats why. It's more of a big deal when she gets [BLACKOUT]killed [/BLACKOUT] to Dent if shes his fiance and not just some random gf, and if Bruce makes a point of showing he's in love with her too, that is also a good narrative reason for him to see her [BLACKOUT]death [/BLACKOUT] as a catalylist for character change and motive, than if she were just some old friend.

It's possible they have some sort of whirlwind romance that ends in an engagement, and then [blackout]rachel's death. But I don't think they would show it in the trailer.[/blackout]

But I do think the scene in which Bruce and her talk on the rooftop could be after finding out she is engaged. Maybe Dent pops the question at the party?

If rachel is dents fiance it could be because they 1. actually dated for a while, as this movie is some time following begins, I mean dent will be the 2nd DA since begins' DA, as confirmed in the virals, telling us that it has been some time between movies or 2. tdk is not that far off from begins timewise, but rachel is knocked up and they decide to marry, this happens all the time, and since he is in the public eye, is the "right" thing to do. just a thought.
