Peter Sarsgaard is Maggie fiancé.

Thinking people think Katie sucks as an actress has anything to do with Tom Cruise is a weird reason. Katie has never been passable. Passable performances in great movies doesn't get nominated for any Razzies.

Katie has never been liked. Before or after Tom. Tom Cruise has always been a much more respected actor than Katie Holmes. So why would Katie become disliked when she hooks up with an actor thats is like 1000 times better and has 100 times more fans than her?

And I dont give a flying fudge if you think Maggie is attractive or not.

I think that people went crazy over her when she was cast in Dawson's. She was cute and perky and beautiful. I dont know about her acting skills, but her appearence brought her all this fame and success.

I'll just say that Maggie better bring a lot more to the role, because it will only seem like change for change's sake, because the fans were mad over Katie.

And yes, it is a fact that the reason why people dislikes Katie is because we think she's a bad actress. Only dumbasses dislikes her because of Tom Cruise. That's a very small group of people anyway.

Please update yourself regarding Katie in the fashion world and the media and less of the tabloids. Dawson's Creek has a large and loyal following like Star Trek,X-files,Friends you name it. She had a blossoming career but its actually marriage and her baby that stalled that.
Katie's hairdo alone has a cult following.

I agree with this. I couldn't care less who is nominated for a Razzie. I don't think Katie gave a horrible performance in Batman Begins. Upon repeated viewings, I began to see that there was a very clear seperation between her performance and the others in terms of quality. However, I think it's something that is blown out of proportion.

Amen. I love America, but I'm not so deluded as to pretend that America hasn't done reprehensible things to people all around the world... we certainly have. It's not like Maggie said she hated America or anything like that. Sure, she probably could have worded what she said a little better, but I don't consider her statement to be "anti-American" by any means. Phrases like that are popping up more and more often these days, and it's kind of scary. Reminds me of the kind of terminology that was being tossed around when McCarthy was having his heyday.

Ive heard people say that Katie looks like shes about to laugh during her scenes in BB...well...I kind of get the same from Maggie in the brief scene with The Joker.

Again, Im not judging her performance in the movie...I just didnt think she fit in well in that brief clip, and I certainly dont like the viral...

Im not one of these "I have to be right" kind of fanboys...if Maggie nails the performance in the movie, then I'll praise Xenu and rave about it here.

He's referring to her acting, that video reminded me of the in game videos from PC games in the mid 90's. Fake sets, lousy CGI and wooden acting. Maggie seemed fake and rehearsed, Katie managed to pull off the righteous indignation quite well. I don't think she deserved a Raspberry for Worst Supporting Actress. Halle Berry certainly did, in Catwoman.

The point is, the normal reason why somebody dislikes an actor is because they think that actor is bad right. So somebody who actually likes that actor can't go and claim that the people who don't like that actor dislikes that actor for any other reasons.

Agreed. Never been a big fan of Maggie's work, but that "press conference" from the viral was beyond painful to watch for me. As an actor myself, and especially one who's accustomed to public speaking outside of that medium, I felt it there was very little passion when she said, "I believe in Harvey Dent." Way too wooden for my taste. I'm thinking her scenes will be excruciating for me to watch, but definitely not as much as watching Katie's. But who knows, I might be surprised. Just not in a good way.

Its just a viral campain video. Why would you as an actor bother to get in to character, learn the lines til they get as natural as possible for a 1 minute clip that isnt even in the movie. They didn't bother to make it look real. It doesn't suprise me if somebody held a cue-card, she read that and finished after the first take. Point is someone should not judge her performance on that.
