The Dark Knight Rises The Riddler Casting: Any Idea ?

I dont know if Michael C Hall is a good actor, i say he has something about him. But maybe i am wrong.

What about Hugh Laurie? Since Nolan is always surprising us with his casting choices, why not Laurie? He doesnt resemble a batman villain i can think of, but he is a magnificent actor. God knows he would be great!

And if not for a villain, then in a (distant) future batman film, he could be Alfred. He is an Englishman after all, accent and everything and he seems to have the same sardonic humour Alfred has. Just watch house.

So we re all set. When Bale gets old we ll cast him in a Batman Beyond film and when Laurie gets old, he ll be Alfred in a Batman film.

Anyway, i picked Laurie, Depp, Ribisi, Buscemi, Bettany and Casey Affleck on the poll above.

I think Christoph Waltz could be interesting as the Riddler, he does look like the animated series version.

Depp is not going to get cast, in TDK's sequel Batman 3, I know this for a fact guys. He himself called all the rumors bs, and debunked them. So we can count him out, now. Noone suggst him now, I am mad that he won't get cast but we have to move on guys and think of someone else being cast as the Riddler.

^He hasn't been contacted yet, but they won't start casting until after Nolan's done with Inception, right? I doubt they've contacted anybody.

While I'm sure the studio and the producers have a "wish list" of potential actors, I sincerely doubt anyone has been contacted about a role. Lets remember that Nolan hasn't even written it yet so there might not even be a Riddler to cast.

I think Di Caprio would be nice too. I am just worried that he'll steal Bale's thunder with his boyish looks and his suaveness!

I used to think about Dicaprio for Dent before Eckhart was cast. I still think he would be a better fit for that character than the Riddler.

Alessandro Nivola. He is a great actor and very underrated. He has the right look for Riddler.

I dont understand what it is with Depp. Everyone wants him for Joker (which is a ridiculous and stupid idea) or Riddler.

IMHO hes become boring.

I like the suggestion of Giovanni Ribisi, who is someone I hadent thought of.

Even before the rumor started awhile back, my pick was Guy Pearce. Hes worked with Nolan before and is a favorite of mine.

But he hasnt let us down. So which actors make you think WTF? but you come to see hope for by the end?

His choices might not been the most obvious, but not ones has that been my reaction.

Liam Neeson was kind of obvious as R'as because he is pretty well known and an accomplished actor.

David Wenham is an actor who few people would think about for the riddler. he is an amazing actor with an awesome voice for narration which is exactly what the riddler needs to have. He could provide a great physical match for batman as well, though i know that riddler is not usually a physically imposing character.

If Jim Carrey never played the Riddler before and he was under Chris Nolan direction he would be perfectly awesome as the riddler, there I said it.

I agree totally..

To be honest, Carrey wouldn't have made a half bad Joker either.

However, for Nolans Riddler i'd go for Steve Buscemi.
