Maybe with Sony being bankrupt and most of the studios area long every comic book adaptation magnificent as possible and every other adaptations and blockbusters are doing the same and the geek community is evolving I believe Sony is smart enough to realize what's going on. They aren't that stupid enough to ruin the movies again with their meddling. The best thing they can do is listen to the constructive critisms and make the best franchise ever. And let's not forget the fact that they need spiderman to survive so that's another reason.

Yeah, I think that's why they probably won't give back the rights. They obviously did their homework with Spidey quipping and having webshooters. So, it's not like they've never made good decisions. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they dump Webb and hire Goddard for TASM3.

indeed it does.it really needs to be great. i want this series to be great. it has enough bashing already. with what warner bros. fox and marvel are doing with the CBMs sony should step up and not mess around. spidey can't be the only one with a bad series

Do Green Lantern and Fantastic Four count? I feel a lot worse for their fans than anyone here.

Well green lantern is getting a reboot and despite my interest in the new F4 reboot I do kind of see where fans are coming from but I still see the premise working. Could have the same tone as interstellar. Michael b Jordan is so gonna own the role. But honestly with marvel's stubbornness in canceling F4 to piss off fox I honestly hope the new F4 reboot fails because marvel films of now have angerede so when it comes to effecting comics.

But imagine what happens if F4 fails. The poor bastards didn't even get a halfway decent movie to begin with, we got one great movie (SM2), three ok-to-good ones (SM1, TASM1, TASM2) and one piece of **** (SM3).

*sigh* I know. I guess the fourth time can be the charm. All we want is a great F4 movie and with what is happening I believe we may never get one till marvel gets the rights. I hope this new one succeeds even if marvel cancels the series after 50 years

The most we can hope for is a better portrayal of the characters, instead of four utterly uninteresting heroes, the biggest Marvel Comics villain of all time being turned into a third rate Norman Osborn/Electro knock-off, a marginal Silver Surfer and..... the Giant Fart Cloud from Outer Space.

Indeed. The F4 needs to to have their time to shine. And galactus can do well in live action. Check out this deviantart called cloudy with a chance of galactus and tell me that doesn't work well in live action!

WOW I love it. That would be so awesome! If they can make Thanos work in live action, they can sure as hell make Galactus work!

We're a little off topic though. How would you approach the designs of the new villains for S6? I don't want everything looking so mechanical, maybe have Doc Ock in a business suit with the tentacles jutting out of it, I never understood why they would put him in tights or armor. Ditto Vulture. Kraven should be relatively easy, and I'd LOVE that Shazam mask on Mysterio.

I love to see a ghost skull for mysterio under that dome and a mechanical suit for the scorpion after getting DNA from a genetically modified scorpion and I would totally feel the same for Otto.

I don't think Scorpion would be used though, too similar to Ock and Lizard in design. Remember that concept art for Vulture that was leaked for use in SM3? I really loved that, such a dark, almost Gothic look with the tattered coat and rickety wings. That would be more interesting than the usual armor plus mechanical wings combo.

That'd be cool too. I'd like some feather designs on the wings though, he still needs to look like a giant bird of prey, not an old dude in a winged jet pack.

I'd love Tim Curry for Mysterio, but my ultimate pick would have to be Tom Waits. Doubt he'd do it though.

If Goddard makes a critically acclaimed Sinister Six movie he should absolutely direct ASM3. Webb was brought in for his romantic expertise but Gwen is now dead and I think bringing in a love interest who has to fight for screen time with the Sinister Six would be a mistake.

Also to make S6 new and fresh the only villain we have seen that should return is Goblin. Don't use Lizard, Electro and most definitely don't use Rhino.

Similar to what Raimi had in mind for him at one point during production of SM2 oder SM3, I'm not sure

They don't even need to bring back Foxx (too expensive maybe?)

Oh while I never new that they had almost had him in one of the rami spider man movies. This is the first times I have seen this before.

They'll probably end up reusing Rhino, not Electro, and definitely not the Lizard. Even better, they could introduce a villain that hasn't been used before in one of the movies. If they knew enough of the Spidey mythos to pick a character as obscure as Fiers, then they could introduce someone like Morlun or Shriek.

I really can't see Electro coming back as he was, he was just far too effects heavy. Sony will want to avoid having to spend loads of money on effects heavy characters when they are worried about how successful the film will be. Sony are far more likely to prefer characters that don't have such high CG demands, so they can keep down the budget and reduce potential losses.

Mysterio will bring more than enough visual effects to go around. I would prefer Electro to stay dead at least for a good while.

And Giametti is a great actor. Given more time to develop Aleksi's character, I think he's going to impress a lot of people.

Giamatti is the reason why I had high expectations for Rhino, and I think that's why so many people were thoroughly disappointed. The same can be said for the way they used Chris Cooper.

On paper, the cast has been amazing, but the way the characters have been written has been sub par.

Who knows, though. I'm still not ruling out Goddard turning things around.

He is one of the villains I would least like to see in a spider man movie. I think if he is in a sm movie it has to be with another villain. I would rather see venom, carnego, morbis, hydor man, all before him.
