Is anyone here worried about the average joe getting a b-movie vibe from what may be shown of Venom in the trailer?

If they don't wanna give to much away, I reckon all we'd see of Venom is him growling/barring his wicked teeth. Like a monster.

nah, actually I think most average movie-goers don't watch the trailers, they probably just stay away from spoilers. sony won't show too much of venom though......they want to keep him low profile until the movie comes out because he is the BIG thing in spidey3. sony doesn't like giving away big things in trailers because they are afraid it might ruin one of the main treats of the film, hell I want to see a new glimpse of venom but I don't want them to show too much.

It's kind of hard to make a 250 mil. dollar B-movie. But I suppose it could be done.
I think a lot more people know who Venom is than you think. Even my buddies who have little intrest in Spidey and/or comics in general were asking me when Venom was going to be the bad guy after the first film came out.

Sony needs something to help this movies break the money record for opening day and the selling point is obviously Venom. I have no doubt that this movie will make tons of money but what helped make the first one money is that everyone finally got a chance to see spidey on the big screen and now everyone wants to see Venom on screen and that, I believe, will help make it's record breaking money.

your right. though Venom is not the only thing that will help make this film alot of money. take sandman for example, the shots we have seen of sandman purley and simply amazing which is something that will bring even more people to see this film. I mean the first two films grossed a ton of money because of how good they are and how good the story is as well. what I believe is that if the story makes sense then that will make people love this film. even the villians in this film are fan favorites (they are my favorites) which is why us fans think the battles are going to be great. we have seen a 50 foot tall sandman........we have never seen that in a spidey film befor. trust me, by the looks of all the battles, the villians, the story, the new characters seems to me that this film will really be top notch.

Venom and Snadman will help SM3 make money. But lets not forget the cliffhanger in SM2. Harry finds his dad's goblin gear. This leads the non-fans to come and see what he plans to do and how this story ends.

I disagree with you about the last 2 films stories being boring because in my opinion they weren't. now I myself want this film to be good more than have it to great at the box office. the last two films were excellent movies and did awesome at the box office and sure I loved that it did great at the box office but I also loved the fact that films did great. now for the third film alot of people including myself are confident that this film will do great at the box office and most importantly be a great film. so what I think is that if the franchise is a succesful franchise and is very well made. we have seen the 7 1/2 minute clip and just by that I can tell this film will have what us fans are looking for just like the last two films. and to me films are meant to entertain people and not to just focus on doing well at box office and mainly breaking box office records for that matter.
