Well, it's in continuity as far as the people making the comics are concerned...
Did Nova still have the entire world-mind/power of the Nova corps within him?
Yeah.
I have just finished the first volume of Annhilation and was surprised how easily Annhilus killed him considering I have heard Quasar being compared to Superman in the past.
Quasar went down way too easily in that, as far as I'm concerned. Dude's held off the Hulk, the Thing, and a half-dozen other characters at once with his energy shields. But, supposedly Annihilus was much more powerful than normal in that as well, so who knows? It might've been a fair representation.
As I said above, just finished Annhilation 1 and Drax still seemed pretty strong, I thought he just lost the ability to fly and shoot energy from his hands?
Like I said, he retained some of his super-strength, he's just not in the top-tier like he used to be. At least, he wasn't when Giffen revamped him in the Drax mini-series shortly before Annihilation.

Annhilation was really good though much better than Civil War imo.

Drax's original body, according to Marvel, was at the 40 ton level. He was however absolutely indestructible as long as his mind occupied his body.

Drax was portrayed as much, much stronger than that. Unless by "original body" you mean the one he's currently in. If that's the case, then yeah, that sounds about right.

I have heard about the tearing the star in half bit but I have never seen it. Officially they classified him at 40 tons so I guess that means that Marvel doesn't consider that to have happened. What other high end strength feat did he have back then?

I'm not gonna say it again, Wolverine!! I know what I'm talking about.

It really was. Annihilation was a great read from start to finished. I know about cosmic characters, but rarely read their books. Not that I don't like them, I just tend to focus on Earth characters, in fact Thanos is probably my favorite villain. So I was hesitant on picking up Annihilation, but I kept seeing ppl on here loving it. So I finally picked it up when it was ending (bought all issues of the main book the same day), and loved it.

I'm evented out tho. Annihilation was great, and I thought CW was ok, WWH was just one too many. Plus CW had heroes not acting like heroes, and villains doing heroic work, WWH had one character crapping on every other character, Annihilation was just doing everything right while other events were starting to suck.

Not everyone considers it official. This is why most people bring up other characters, the Sentry isn't that well liked.

Not liking a character isn't a valid argument. It's a way of saying you won't take part in the argument, but not a valid argument at all.
And it's clearly official.

Annihilation was the best event of the past few years at Marvel, bar none.

Conquest was all right, but it got a bit muddled and wasn't quite up to the standard Annihilation set. I think War of Kings will bring things back to Annihilation's level, though. I can't wait for the main WoK series to start.

I missed the last issue of Secret Invasion: Inhumans, so I started off the War of Kings stuff a little confused. I'm okay now, but I still wish I'd gotten to read SI: Inhumans' last issue.

It was nice to see Karnak actually use his power effectively in that Secret Invasion/War of Kings one-shot, though.

Medusa seems to be stepping up her game. She's always been cruel. What with being a member of the Frightful Four and being a woman. But she seems to be going all, "Bring me the head of John the Baptist" on Blackbolt.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

You're saying women are generally cruel?

Anyway, Medusa was amnesiac when she was with The Frightful Four, iirc...

Yeah.

Wow, then this again shows the power of the Surfer.

Yeah he did seem to go down a little easily after what I had heard, but who knows, Annihilus seemed ridiculously powerful at that point.

Like I said, he retained some of his super-strength, he's just not in the top-tier like he used to be. At least, he wasn't when Giffen revamped him in the Drax mini-series shortly before Annihilation.

The Drax mini-series is actually part of the first Annihilation TPB. And in that I didnt think Drax seemed all that weaker. He dispatched one of the blood brothers with ease after his re-awakening, were as previously the old Drax couldnt do that despite fighting with them for a while.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. Giffen himself said in interviews that Drax was supposed to be weaker but a lot more cunning and with a lot more fighting skill, but I suppose the portrayals of him may not have backed that up. I really wasn't all that acquainted with Drax before the change in the mini, to be honest, so I'm going mostly off of hearsay of a few significant feats.

As for Nova vs. the Surfer, Nova's been weaker than I would've thought the entire Nova Force would make him. Then again, we know that the Worldmind has been siphoning some of his power for months now to create new Nova Centurions and resurrect the Nova Corps, so that may have something to do with it.

Drax' current power levels are a bit of a mystery all around.

He hasn't displayed any high end strength feats but at the same time he hasn't really shown ANY difficulty overpowering his enemies since the rebirth. I mean Nova-select was the only person who's given him trouble so far and that seemed mostly cause Drax was trying to run away rather than kill him.

In the original Drax mini it didnt even seem like he lost any strength just his flight and energy powers and changed his attitude about how to apply strength.

Economy of effort and all that.

And judging by the way he pretty much waded carelessly through the annihilation wave and killed everything in his path I'd say he's still pretty well up there in terms of strength.

If I were to guess i'd put drax in what I call "tier two" of the heavy hitter class. Along with guys like Leonard Samson, The Thing, Collossus etc.

classic Juggernaut has always seemed the strongest to me. I mean Thor made Galactus run away with his Godforce attack or w/e its called, and all it did on Juggs was make him smile

I still say Death is the strongest character...Thanos had to become a titan in order for her to even think aboiut dating him...

For all the 'strongest one there is' crap from Greengenes, I see a Hulk/Galactus arm wrestling match as a humilating defeat for the other side of Dr. Banner.

Nope. Ghost Rider is extremely formidable but I've never seen any reason why'd be on any top ten list in terms of power.

yes Dr Strange claimed that his powers appeared limitless. So what? That claim hasnt been backed up by feats yet.

Ghost Rider was the only one capable of coming close to beating WWH.
IIRC, GR didn't even use his strongest attack against WWH...

Hey Silverstein, I noticed no one is even acknowledging when you mention her. I wonder if anyone knows who you're talking about.

SilverAwesome said:
Of course they do! Deadpool saw images of her while he was in Weapon X, Thanos wanted her...etc etc..

Nahhh....But even if they did. She's DEATH...meaning she's stronger than everyone. Because she could kill ANYONE.

IMO, the Hulk is the strongest.

I:bh:O, Hulk is the strongest one there is too. This thread is funny bc it's titled: The "Strongest" in the MU, not most powerful. If we are going off pure strength, there's only ONE character built for that. His name is synonymous with strength. IMO, cosmic beings shouldn't count.
