BvS The Superman suit Thread - Part 1

I like the design of the suit. I admit I would like it a shade brighter but it won't kill me if it isn't.

EXACTLY!I'm getting reeeeeeeeeeeeal sick and tired of those goshdarnin trunk comments. Seriously NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Usually I leave at least a 1% chance of something happening but the trunks don't even get that.

I would not complain one bit if the trunks showed up. I would probably do a happy leap or two. Like seeing an old friend.

Honestly I don't mind the saturation for this take. It reminds me of the darker Fleischer colors, which I think is what Snyder was going for. Plus it worked for the 'real-world' tone he was going for as well. I don't think a bright primary colored suit would look as good in this film as we might think. And the color manips people have done here definitely confirmed that for me, making it look completely garish. Plus we've had that with Reeve.

Kind of where I've always landed with the color issue.

Serious question: Do you guys really think the trunks are ever coming back?
I can't think of one superhero that left those behind and came back to them. I'm not talking about obvious temporary changes like "Electric Superman"
There's nothing wrong with leaving some design elements that were obviously a product of the times in the past.

Don't mess too much with perfection.

I love this suit. My only (minor) gripe is that I would like the cape to be a couple of inches off of the ground.
That way it would hang perfectly rather than bunched up at the bottom like it is here...

New Coke is not the same at all. A few comparisons that makes sense are... Wolverine, Batman, ANY other character that had trunks and now no longer has them.

Well it looks much more like the comics suit than it's ever looked....people are still reeling in shock at that.

And don't get me wrong. I'm not coming in to say, "OMG! You're a dummy if you want the trunks back!"
I just don't see it happening. Considering the origin, and how all of these heroes are losing or have lost their trunks. I see why they did it back in the day. Now, and going forward, it doesn't make sense.

I'd love to see the trunks on Batman and all the characters, I love them on Batman, and I love them on Superman, I think they look great on both, and make just as much sense as anything else on their suits and are just as "realistic" as anything else about the characters and see no reason why they should not be there, but I'll take the suits looking as close to the comics as they can and be fine with that, trunks or not (as long as there's no collars a la NU52, I hate that ****).

I really don't hate the collar, especially since it's technically supposed to be his "Sunday best", but I'm not that attached to the character. I can see where it would piss some people off.

Even the colors look fine here..
But, that little buckle floating in the middle of nowhere?
I do not need to see the trunks.. Nope..

I do think that a belt would work.. Or something...
I think that this area is the "tweek" area..
