BvS The Superman suit Thread - Part 1

It needs to be a little of appeareance of him and the artist but with little knowledge and he wasn't posing in that statue. I think it pretty much could be a generic face that has a little of superman on it.

Is the suit going to look chainmail or nothing is confirmed about it?
I hope the statue has a generic face. It would be pretty hard for Clark Kent to remain incognito if there was a giant statue of him outside of his work!
They could explain it like Perry did in one episode of Lois & Clark from season 2
Perry: "I've been told I look like a certain celebrity, you never see me in Hollywood"

Hmm, I'm not sure it would work on the big screen. Superman's disguise is flimsy at best, having a giant statue with Clark Kent's face on it is asking too much of the audience IMO.

So you don't think that with the fact that every person has a camera in their pocket and with the incredible DSLR camera we have, not one photo of Superman is taken that reveals his face?

He is not always flying at superspeeds. He walks around when something happens and he needs to help.

The terrible explanation once used in comics is that Superman vibrates his face at super speeds, making it appear normal to the naked eye but blurred to the camera lens.

Don't get me started.

Like this? :D

Superman should just outright say it, "I am Clark Kent too, but if any of you act like you know this, or come running to Clark for Superman's help, those people are going into the sun."

You know, a more realistic take.

Anyone else notice that they attached the left calf to the right thigh? : )
The shin bone is curving out instead of inward
The long calf muscle is on the inside on the leg in the pic.
Should be on the outside.

^^ Must be doing it as a placeholder till the right part is finished.

Ok, so I've posted a couple of manips on these threads, and heard mixed reviews about the belt. I went ahead and changed the belt to look less like a utility belt, and made a few additional tweaks.
I much prefer a shorter cape on Superman, especially if Batman has a long one. It gives good contrast in design. I smoothed his hope shield and adjusted his suit's hue and brightness a tad as well.

Here was my original with the not-so-simple belt that people weren't a fan of:

Have you noticed that the statue seems to have three parts as segments. Leg, chest and shoulder?
I keep saying this sculpture is not even finished.

The statue is obviously not finished, the comments about the rest being CGI are more than a little silly.

Agreed, that is a work of beauty. No dimness at all. I hope Snyder keeps the gloom to a minimum this time.

Snyder's filters fit the vision of what Man of Steel was supposed to be. It was a movie surrounded by the act of holding back and discovery before dealing with a planet-wide alien invasion about 2 race's.

The tone and filter was spot on and the pallet really gave off the impression that we were watching an entirely different movie in the genre and something entirely different than what their competitors put out. I love that.

I hope Snyder gives us a different feel to this movie and stylizes it to the world-building of the universe, but I hope he doesn't shy away from making the film feel serious and doing what's necessary to make it feel like what it's supposed to feel like whether that's a gloomier pallet or not, especially considering the Bat is now apart of this world. If anything, I still think we'll get that visual style from Snyder but this the opportunity to make Superman stick out with the colors some fans want. It could make for a great contrast between the two characters.

I don't fault him on a conceptual level. I do believe the de-saturated look works in certain aspects of film, and could work in the context of a Superman film. Particularly towards the end of the film. The dulling of every color for the duration of the film, save for maybe the sequences on Krypton, becomes monotonous and does little to draw you in. I don't think it creates a feeling of bleakness, or makes the film more interesting.

Nolan tackled Batman and he never had a frame where there wasn't color, especially muted color. The reds should be red, and the blues blue. I know it's not a still from the film, but this image should pop the way a panel in a page of a comic does.

...not sure I follow your logic.
Just because it is not finished, doesn't mean you put the wrong leg on...
...and this is still all for fun...no?
