That's why any real difference in size is so minimal as to be entirely inconsequential. Anyone who gets upset that the new symbol is smaller is hugely over-reacting.

It looked good but I'd like to see the \S/ return to the cape if for no other reason than it makes it look different than Thor's cape. I love Thor btw so that's not a knock on Marvel.

Off-topic: I've dropped New 52 for a long time now, but was there any issues of Superman or Action comics that explains the origin of the new Superman suit or how Clark's use of a pair of glasses work?

Same could be said of Batman's yellow belt. Yet it's retained its place as part of the classic Batsuit.

Though for the record, I've always thought it looked out of place.

...are there any yellow elements on the back of his suit? There's no difference in the black or yellow pertaining to your argument, since you'll rarely see the back of his cape AND the front of his costume at the same time.
I'm not really leaning towards one color over the other, it would just be nice to see the S break up the red and differentiate his cape from Thor's. It reminds clueless kids and parents who they're seeing at a quick glance. Oh, and it just looks fantastic!

The suit is a battle armor that comes from his chest emblem. "Nano tech" kind of thing.

I certainly agree that the "New 52" suit is appalling. I don't think the revised cape-symbol is the worst element, but you're right to say that it doesn't seem to unify with the rest of the colour palette in use. It would look fine if the Kingdom Come chest symbol was used in combination.

I actually agree with you about the new 52 costume, it's terrible... except the cape. I love everything about the new 52 cape, the cut of the bottom, the way it hangs of the shoulders, the black \S/. It's just very good looking to me.

Also black goes with everything.

Henry looks great! While I still have a soft spot for the Reeve costme, I prefer the larger "S" actually from MOS, but overall it looks good!
