BvS The Superman Suit Thread - Part 2

I've been thinking this a lot. Don't know what you guys think?

Besides the "not dust on the suit" and to avoid spy pics, why the robe covered the suit like that all the time? and we haven't seen him without the robe. In MOS we've seen on set the back of the cape, so my question is... does this suit have the yellow S and they are trying to hide it?

I know it's almost impossible but...
It's just the sort of robe the seem to wear on set...

I know but.... I need to see the back of his cape soon.

I wouldn't mind the shield. I don't get the complaint... seriously, a square belt buckle is lauded as a some sort of stylistic master stoke but a shield on the cape is a faux pas of epic proportions? WTF!

I'd be happy with either of those options. but the iconography with the yellow S would be awesome... but 90% it's all red the cape.

Actually, they're both ugly.

I dunno...I realy like the cape just being this beautiful plain red thing.

I don't accept that... don't get me wrong, you're right on the buckle, but if the shield on the cape is ugly and that shield is a mirror of the shield on the front, then there's something inherently wrong with the shield itself. The complaint just seems disproportionate to the effect... I get that some people prefer the plain cloak, I like it that way as well, but I don't think it instantly sucks if you put a shield on it. Honest question... is the general complaint essential to the shield itself or is it the idea of it being the traditional yellow?

well, in all honesty, when push comes to shove, i'll take a square belt buckle over an S on the belt buckle any day :p

I was just going to say that. It seems they changed its diamond shape, it looks wider than in MOS.

Personally, I liked the MOS one better, but won't make a fuss out of this.

I liked the MOS shield better too. The shape that is. I don't it's wider just shorter. The space between the \S/ has been squeezed so to speak.

If you look at the official pic closely, you'll realize that the BvS suit gave you a square buckle with an S on it, though it is a subtle S this time. I don't really have an issue with the square buckle, the S on it, the shorter shield, nor would I have an issue with the S on the cape.

ill be happy if they get rid of that weird salmon color the shield took on in some shots. There are a lot of RED hues to choose...from.
I know it's reflective but it really looked weirdy pinky-salmon in some (most) shots...I chose to ignore it...

Smaller, I judge... top sits lower and the bottom point doesn't reach quite so far down into the top of the six pack. As far as shield goes, I give tops marks to MoS - not a drastic thing; A+ for MoS, A- for new one (though that is a step backward).

The neck line for BvS Superman suit is higher, the shield proportions are a bit different, I like this shield more.

I wonder why they chose to recreate the shield as shown in the poster rather than use the main logo and put the chain-mail pattern on it.? They kept it for the BvS logo too.

Agree to disagree.

Or perhaps the shield just doesn't belong on the cape.

I do. I think it looks rather tacky.

Both.

To avoid any unnecessary arguments, everything I just wrote was my opinion and nothing more.

If it weren't for unnecessary arguments we wouldn't have anything to argue about... this is all rather silly stuff after all. None of it is necessary :yay:

I wondered that myself, about the neckline that is...

... not convinced that is the case though.

It is, and the shield has a different aspect ratio. (but it is a bit smaller.)

If that is the case then I much preferred the original neckline... and the original shield.

I like the shape of the shield (and the different thickness to portions of the S itself) on the BvS suit more. Not sure about the line and Kryptonian glyphs in the centre of it yet.

Holy mother of ****. Do my eyes deceive me? Is the suit brighter?

And remember, Superman was wearing an 18000 year old suit in MOS.
A little dated as far as style goes... ; )

I was under the impression that Jor-El manufactured a new suit for Kal using some kind of Kryptonian technology, because otherwise it doesn't really make a lot of sense why an 18,000-year-old Kryptonian ship would have a perfectly fitting suit from the House of El for him.

Perhaps the suit adjusts to the wearers body? Like those one-size-fits-all piece of thermal underwear suits you wear in the wintertime, i got a couple of pair of those. Theyre stretchy, yet snug and warm. No :supes: on them though...(And mine arent 18,000 years old.)

Or maybe the sunlight brightened the suit? Or Supes realized that his suit looked alien in origin and changed it himself knowing that he would be in the public eye. Or...the designers changed it for the sake of changing it because it's a movie.
