You should check out the close ups of his costume :cwink:

Going through the thread now. I have to check it out more often. The suit is perfect. Only problem is I'd like to see the emblem on the back of the cape as well but it's not a big issue.

Btw is he really that huge or is he wearing a muscle suit underneath?

The lines on his hips and side are strange but overall it looks great. Theres got to be some serious muscular padding in it too because Cavill looks HUGE.

It's mainly him, if he has any muscle padding, the costume team knows how to make it properly.

I love the Kryptonian look weve seen from these set pics shown tonight which there were alot and closeup. Itz crazy to hear people call it too busy or overdesigned I want to ask them if theyve ever seen TDK suit before lol.

Seriously, that's probably the best live action super hero suit I've ever seen.

It does definitly have padding but not a whole lot from what it looks like Cavill has bulked up very nicely for the role.

Cavill really reminds me of Reeve in this picture. :)

He looks just as much like Superman as Reeve did, perfect choice for the role well that is the look atleast. As far as performance weve got quite some time to even see a trailer.

Those closeups of the Superman suit are a godsend, because from a distance it looked like a plain-old blue bodysuit. And without the trunks, it just looked bad. Now that we can actually make out the details of the suit, I'm surprised to say that they made it work without the trunks. Consider me on-board. It looks cool as hell.

And I'd kill for a batsuit like that.

We shall see. This definitely screams Superman to me, even without the suit.

I agree Meddle, im curious to know the material used for making the MOS suit. I cant really tell even from these close up pics.

The guy is in great shape. American Psycho kind of shape. Oh well just another example of a better design than the TDK/TDKR suit. I thought spandex could never work in live action? Imagine this design completly black or dark grey. This suit looks like it went through a similar multi-level paint job like the one in Spiderman 2 because I can see painted on subtle shading in the deltoid and forearm area. Very well done whoever made this. Not the designer from the Batman Movies

I have absolutely no expectations for The Man of Steel because Zach Snyder is directing (and he has routinely favored surface level fluff over anything resembling substance)

but...

... the suit and Henry look absolutely bad ass. I agree as far as comic book heroes go, he is certainly up there.

Although Vincent Perez, in outfit, hair, make-up and posture looked spectacular as The Crow.... he was a horrifying actor and it was a horrifying movie. Hopefully Cavil will be more than just a photographic Supes (i'm not familiar with his work).

Can someone please manip the begins cowl and cape on this, I dont have those skills

I just have to say this.... I dislike it when the Batsuit looks too clean. I'd like to see some dirt and scratches on it or some fading here and there. Unless Bruce spends time every night cleaning, shining and painting over scratches on the Batsuit.

It is a damned good suit. I'm so excited that Superman is getting this kind of treatment, at least with the suit. It's modern, fresh and still faithful. I appreciate that they are highlighting the alien heritage of the character as well. And yes, Cavill looks like a Superman. He's regal and rugged at once. He looks as if he could pound a supervillain into the ground.

He definitely has muscle padding, because those look like 18'' arms, and in however good a shape he's in, he just isn't that buff. The padding is there and it isn't insignificant, but it's placed very well, there's minimal creasing or any other sign of poor pad placement and suit fabrication.

How do you know hes not that "buff"? Chris Evans was that big or slightly bigger for CA as well as Chris Hemsworth for Thor. Cavill was already lean and ripped for Immortals, he has more then enough time to bulk up substantially.

Padding or not Cavill looks pretty equal in size to his comic counterpart, thats more then I can say about Hardy's "slightly" bulked bane.

The Amazing Superman. It looks like he and the new Spiderman have the same tailor.

It looks good, but he really needs a belt and that "S" is way too fat.

I've seen his Immortals footage, his Clark Pics, his press stuff quite recently. It may seem trivial to some, but you don't selectively grow huge shoulders, upper arms and chest by that much in such a short period of time. I know what I'm talking about.

And Evans' arms and legs are nowhere near the size we see here on Cavil, his frame is just quite a bit wider than Cavil's. And as for Hardy's Bane, I've expressed my disappointment in his physical appearance quite a few times now, compared to the source material it's pathetic really, Bale looked bigger in Begins.

Superman has no need for armor plating in his suit, Batman on the other hand..

If anything is padded out I'm betting on it being the abdominal area. I find it hard to believe that a material can actually get that kind of definition without it being paper thin and looking horrid everywhere else. Otherwise, dude got super jacked. More jacked than anyone has ever gotten for Superman before and that's a very VERY good thing.
