Oh I got it! Back when they were filming in London, when they were filming Gotham PD HQ, there were rumors that Catwoman shows up there. Maybe the safe is located in the evidence section of Gotham PD and the pearls are in it. Catwoman sneaks in and steals it.

I don't know. The safe seems to be in a very modern setting - it looks like an office. I'm thinking more Wayne Enterprise (or some office) rather than Wayne Manor.

Perhaps, given the importance of the Wayne family to Gotham, a replica of the infamous necklace originally worn by Martha is on display at the Gotham museum? Or maybe not.

Judging by her speech, she obviously does want to taunt him and shame for being this 'billionaire playboy' who is throwing parties at museums and such. Wearing his mother's necklace is a rather effective way to do that. Especially since the Waynes represented more than just wealth to Gotham. I don't know how she got it but she obviously stole it from him.

May just be me getting hopeful but around the last time of a big magazine article (Empire) there were a lot of other promos like new pics, the new trailer and the prologue so any chance of a new trailer sometime soon. I've been that if this film is following the same marketing route as TDK then a new trailer should be seen in May.

Even if it was ripped, it would have definitely been collected from the crime scene and could have easily been put back together under the orders of Bruce or Alfred.
