IMDB is only good for when you're watching a movie and you think 'I know that person, but i can't remember their name'

I remember the days when most people didn't know about IMDB. I'd sit in the lounge in my college dorm, working on my laptop, and whenever someone watching a movie or TV show would say "Who is that? He looks familiar," I'd instantly rattle off the other movies he was in.

They thought I was a real badass.

IMDB is a laughing stock of a site though. So any having any sort of "reputation" there bears little interest other than a chuckle.

This coming from these Batboards?

He's right though. IMDB is the hell hole of the internet. It's a troll infested sewer.

If you want to indulge in self torture, pay a visit to the IMDB Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Fincher version) boards. The first two pages are enough to drive a forum dweller to getting out of the house (blasphemy!).

To be fair, I have gotten some insanely amazing film recommendations from reading some of the boards on IMDB, such as Satantango, The Church, Long Day's Journey Into Night, The Little Foxes, The Ghost Story of Yotsuya, and many more.

Doesn't negate the terribleness of everything else.

No, it doesn't, but this board is only somewhat more tolerable. I find myself having to leave or skip over hours of bickering here before I can come back in when something worthwhile is being discussed.

The IMDB boards got me onto message boards.

"The director AND TEH BATMAN are Teh ENGKISH>>>??? GAY!!!!"

Yep, that was good.

Then I moved onto BOF. That was a bit like moving off a cold and straight onto the Black Death. "I know something you don't know. What? I ain't saying. You don't need to know. What? Nolan is a personal buddy. What? I'm telling you because I am a fellow fan. What do you mean, I'm not telling anyone anything? I heard a rumbling. A well known Batman villain may or may not be in this movie. WHAT? Screw you- Nolan and me have a sleepover and we're going to order pizza I HATE YOu!!! Ban  "

I am happy here, really.

I am too, as surprising as it may sound. These are the best Batman boards on the internet that I've seen. Sure, they're maddening and insane and sometimes ridiculous, but they're still the best I've found.

I will never leave the hype or cheat on it, it is and will always be my one and only.

Agreed Fawful. This place can become Arkham at times but other sites on the net put this thread to shame when coming to lunacy.

Dude, don't even bother. He doesn't know jack, and when he says crap like "Parts of it are true," as if he would have any idea, he's just doing it to troll you and every other gullible member of these boards.

Just ignore him. He gets off on attention.

Just so that you know, Rag knew about the Batwing weeks before the spy photos were posted. The guy knows a few things and by calling him a troll you're making a fool out of yourself.

Lets ease up on the labelling, Rag has been right about a couple of things, keep ir friendly folks.

Rag provides accurate intelligence. What do you bring to the table?

Away with you.

The forums on IMDB are certainly a travesty in terms of how they're moderated and the kind of nonsense that goes on with the posters there, but one thing that makes it a valuable asset is the fact that it's one of the most mainstream films websites on the internet. Tons of people go to IMDB - ranging from geeks, to your roommate, to extras, actors, actresses and even your grandma. The fact that there is also not very strict policies also means information is prone to leaking there with little consequence.

In other words, whilst someone that is working on Magnus Rex probably hasn't heard of SHH!, they could easily leak information (to Goku for example) on those boards and there is a chance for legitimacy. The same thing happened during when we were first getting reports of the TDKR teaser, I went to IMDB instead of here to find the signs of the first bootleg, and sure enough I talked to someone who did have it and shared the teaser with me privately because he was worried about WB finding out.

Eventually he decided "Eff it" and made the video public, but he did have it, and it was the first sign of the footage online, so as I always say IMDB does have it's uses.

He knew about it, but didn't want to actually tell anyone before someone else ended up revealing it (spy photos, etc.)? Yeah, no, I know that already, I was there. Saying you know something - and even saying "I'll confirm it, after someone else leaks it" - isn't actually adding anything to the table. It's just a way to build up mystique and attention.

It's standard internet forum con-job tactics - making it appear as if you knew something all along, but not having to be called out on it when you DIDN'T know, because nobody can ever PROVE you didn't know (just like you can never prove you did after the fact, since you didn't bring anything to the discussion until AFTER someone else brought out the actual goods). It's standard for Jett, and everyone hates it. Yet I've seen it happen here over and over again for the last five years, and half the time people actually leap to defend these con-artists.

Common sense, with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Umm, so Rag tells us he's heard some info that there's a Batplane and he's supposed to himself just magic up a set picture to confirm it? :whatever: He let people know on here two weeks in advance, me even longer. He also confirmed the riot scenes before they happened. He's legit. The reason he took caution about revealing it is because he didn't want to get his sources fired, it's common courtesy.

C'mon, Rag told us about the batwing, and he provides smart comments and speculation. He's also one of the few mature users left. IMO he's as trustworhty as anyone can be here.
It's just imposible for him to reveal everything he's told. People who tells us this kind of things are kind enough to even reveal something to us. People can get fired you know?

Rag has all my respect just because of his avatar. It's like he's a boss in this place or something, even tough his account name is probably spelled wrong.

I've never seen Ragnarok say anything that wasn't plausible. Usually when someone is posting fake fanfiction, it seems REALLY apparent from the get go. There's been plenty of stuff like that around here before. However, this kangaroo court scenario is something that makes sense in this movie, feels like something Nolan would do, and is something that I would be sad about if it was fake. That's a first for a lot of the story rumors I've heard.

My source confirmed that Burn Gorman is Philip Striver:

He actually looked much older on set than in his imdb pics. That's definitely him though. Funny I thought Chris was calling him Bern as in Bernie or Bernard but was actually just saying Burn. Interesting name

I've seen stuff revealed elsewhere and it then found it's way here(generally speaking). I'm not saying Rag did that but it happens all the time. This guy is just trying to get info out there. I don't care about the means if everything seems to check out.
