Sorry if this has already been reported... but the "Batwing" is simply called the "Bat" by people on TDKR's production team.

is that a codename/nickname or the movie name for it?

Nah, it's the Bat-anti-gravity-apparatus!

I like it, The Bat sounds perfect for Nolan. Still curious on another Batmobile and Suit, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Now we know at least one meaning of RISES, him being in The Bat overlooking Gotham.

The Bat sounds totally accurate, one thing is for sure it wont be called the batwing in the film.

B.A.T. = Back-up Armored Transport

Yes, I like making up lame backronyms whenever I get the chance.

Make up one for supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

i think on the forum we should call it the batwing. every fanboy knows that the batwing is batman's flying vehicle. not everyone knows that you mean the plane when you say the ''bat''

To me it will always be the Wooblerster.

But it's not a plane... at least I don't think so. I'll keep calling it the Batcopter.

Actually if you want a proper name for the vehicle it's the Helicochiropter. Chiropter being latin for bat.

But "helicopter" is from the Greek "helix", so you would be mashing two languages together.

They already did that, chiroptera is derived from two Greek words. :p I shouldn't have brought Latin into it.

I'll keep calling it the lobster, I think. I've been doing so for too long now. Affectionately of course.

I call it something different everytime until we know the real name.

Are we thinking that the lobster will have something done to it in post-production as to how it is propelled? Helicopter blades added perhaps?

I have my theories but I'm not sure anyone believes me!

Synchronized rotas on either side of the underbelly? I suppose it is possible.

I noticed these things when it was first in Pittsburgh, they seem to have changed appearance a few times but I'm thinking it's the main part of the rotor assembly.

On set I've heard them call it the Batwing, Batprawn, Batlobster or simply the Bat. A list of upcoming lego sets in 2012 lists "The Batwing"

The crew use prawn and lobster?! :awesome:
The new Lego is probably not TDKR related, it's called Batwing Battle and sounds similar to this thing. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Batman-B...U5FK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318710034&sr=8-1
Is that rare? The price is shocking!

Edit: ok apparently they're bringing out a Lego TDKR set too, hmm! Now I've read the press release it could just be them timing an unrelated line to launch near the film.
