Well said but I wouldn't necessarily say those who think begins is better need to be checked. Everyone has their own tastes although I agree with you to this day tdk remains one of my all time favorite films, I wouldn't think someone who thought bb was better was crazy, just that they view things differently. They are both great in totally different ways.

Returns is FAR from being a bad movie. It's really flawed, but we have to remember how comic book movies were made until Batman89. Burton's movies managed to create a somewhat plausible universe in which a man dressing as a giant Bat is not ridiculous. It's flamboyant and extravagant, but it's also dark and mature. Not as mature as Nolan's movie, in terms of story, but it shows respect for the original material, even if it's clear they don't really understand the characters.

Do i think Nolan did a better job in adapting Batman's mythos? Yes.
Does that make Burton's movies bad? Not for me.

People should understand you can like both thos versions.

It's pretty bad. Batman 89 is better in almost every way.

ding dong to the above statment, people are prob gonna think im just agreeing with everything you say there are certain things i prefere in begins but the dark knight as a whole is an amazing piece of work!
It even converted some of my freinds to start picking up the odd graphic novel and they said it was a good film even it hadn't had batman init

yeah, I don't really care for objectivity. I don't really care either about universal truth. I'm more interested in feelings and experience. A movie can be flawless on a technical level and leaving me cold.

I can also separate objectivity from subjectivity, and I think ost of the people here can do the same, without thinking they are superiors to others. But like me, I guess they are not that interested in objectivity.

and iwas refering to the longer statment you wrote but comp crashed but im on same level with you ripped

The problem we have is that we all overanalise things when you live and breth the character for that long you cant help but critisize things, you notice things in more context and complexity.

I'm sure we will all absolutly adore the third film s much as the other two as a whole story of the trilogy. However there are always going to be things that we will see and think " iwish they did this and why didn't they show this or they should of done that another way"

At the end of the day it' a good film because even years after it's release we are still talking about it now in this detail. if it was garbage then it would not of affected us at all and would of been forgotton. the very point that we are this passionate/dispassionate about somthing shows it had an effect!

and there wouldnt be countless forums of which you have all subscribed to about individual topics if it didnt - where ever you enjoyed it or not

Good point

Returns is really more of a crazy Tim Burton movie than a Batman movie, but I still enjoy it. Michelle Pfeiffer just chews up all the scenery. Burton was kept on a leash with Batman '89. He's gone on record saying he finds Batman '89 boring.

thanks i just hope they do up the bat cave a little especially in the south east corner

The love interest in Returns is better than the one in 89. Keaton's Wayne and Pfeiffer's Selina have wonderful chemistry and seem made for each other, whereas every time the 89 movie went back to Vickie and Bruce the film got really boring because the two had no chemistry at all.

Has anyone else noticed that in the recent pictures where it shows joseph gordon-levitt and christian bale, bale's hair has gray in it... almost like mr fantastic... actually bales hair is very similar to that of ras al ghul... is this a clue?

Yeah, he's been sporting that gray hair since the shoot started in May. :)

i hope they dont make these three films out that this was batmans entire career when it should only be the beggining

He's not the only one. It may look very nice but aside from the performances of Keaton and Nicholson it's as dull as dishwater.

Well prepare for your hopes to be shattered in that case. Nolan has stated on numerous ocassions that this will be a definitive end to the story. "Every journey has an end." wasn't just put into the teaser for show.

yeah but i thought they meant this journey the journey into what shaped him into the batman we know and love. he needed certain things to happen to him so he became this grim and determined legend. i know there is the flip side and i half kinda agree with you, but couldnt that be to throw us off and play the advertising angle that its all gonna end?

I beleive it is the end but we can live in hope

the way it's shaping up they could possibly turning this so that the dark knight returns meets batman beyhond so it wont be over over anyway

Haven't been on here for a few weeks, and I don't know if this has been discussed yet but does it seem to anybody else that Bruce's identity will be revealed in this movie. These new photos make me think that Bruce as Batman has been released to the public.

My only objections with the Burton movie was the lack of insight or development of Gordon, the GCPD and Wayne Enterprises.

So I guess that new guy got banned?
Can't find any of his posts so I guess so... can't say I'm surprised. He seemed to be dealt with quite quickly too... makes me wonder if he was one of the older members evading a ban or something.
