And look where all that got ya...reboot city.

I was referring to X-Men, but Spider-Man works too. Plus, the MCU is counted as an individual franchise, according to BOM and Wikipedia.

Plus, Batman's going to get rebooted eventually too, so your 'it got rebooted' point is invalid.

I was going to point that out before thread manager attacked. Who knows what's going to happen to Batman after TDKR.

Difference is Raimi essentially got fired and they rebooted immediately after the biggest grosser of the franchise. That's not the case with Nolan. Dude is ready to walk away on his own.

How exactly are you working out ''highest grossing superhero series''?

Wondering the same thing. He's counting two Nolan movies against 5 X-Men movies made by 4 different filmmakers. At least SM1-SM3 were all made by the same guy.

TDK will make more in one weekend than Captain America and Thor grossed during their entire domestic run. Just sayin'(and I like both movies, especially Cap).

Based on which series so far has made more.

X-Men: $1.8billion
Nolanman: About 1.3/1.4 billion.

Ah yes, 5 against 2. Very fair. And besides, if you want to go down that route then both Batman and Spider-Man have grossed more than X-Men. Both of them are over $2 billion.

There is no way in hell TDKR will gross over 300 million domestically opening weekend.

2 Nolan Batman movies versus 5 X-men movies (by different directors)...

Money wise Nolans looking pretty good. :woot:

If you're going to go by series, than Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have killed every other franchise, series. Especially with Batman '89 and The Dark Knight's numbers.

Alright, then what about the MCU? That's counted as one whole franchise.

Not by the whole franchise, by the current series. Nolan's series isn't the highest grossing superhero franchise of all time.

Who has said that? Just curious. TDK is the biggest grosser and biggest ticket seller in the genre, but Begins was severely handicapped by WB's crappy marketing and B&R's toxic word of mouth. It never reached its potential at the box office IMHO. Heck, I still feel it's the better Batman movie of the two, regardless of box office stats.

Nolan's series has made $1,374,631,840. Fact. Not highest grossing series.
