Great to hear about the interview and the image. Can't wait.

However looking at the poster I noticed something. Sorry if this has been posted before. Batman Begins had a bronze and black poster and a bronze and black colour scheme in the movie. Dark Knight of course had the same thing with blue and black posters. Does this mean that Dark Knight Rises will have a black and white colour scheme?
I saw some evidence this weekend that suggested a black, dark blue, and mid-gray color scheme. Similar to TDK but with more gray, which would make it look colder, yeah.

Name-That-movie, about how many times do they refer to Bane by name?

Well there is going to be snow/ice in the movie so that part makes sense to me.

I am sure someone on here will come up with some super-duper in-depth analysis on the color schemes and how they portray the mood of Batman or the vibe of the overall film and argue this point though. Stand by. :hehe:

I think the color schemes have some thematic significance. I remember back in the day when TDK came out that some posters speculated that Begins' orange/brown tint represented dusk, TDK was blue for the depth of night, and they predicted that the third film would be grey for the muted colors of dawn. Based on the posters so far, I think that is what we are getting.

...I think you guys are looking in too closely at the whole black/white thing LOL.

Err...wait...my avatar is black/white. Perhaps I am part of the conspiracy.

It's not a conspiracy. It is clear that Nolan used two distinct colour themes for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Now, the marketing for The Dark Knight Rises suggests that this film will also have a distinct colour theme/tint. Is it really that ridiculous that a man with a degree in literature and who is known for layering his films with symbolism and subtext might have given these films distinct colour palettes for a reason? I don't think so.

I'm not saying that mine or other poster's interpretations of those choices are correct, just that suggesting that we're nuts and Nolan does these things without reason is rather farfetched.

This is just a minor complaint for me, but I do hope that for TDKR, when people are shown to be shot in close range for the audience members to see on screen, that we could actually see some bullet holes/flesh wound present in those victims (especially if we see them again up close) after they've been shot.

One of my minor and few gripes that I had with TDK is that in regards to the Bank Heist scene, when the Bank Manager with the shotgun got wounded by the Joker, there should have realistically been some type of flesh wound present on his legs or body after being shot, yet when we see him again several times after it, there's not even a scratch on him.

You won't see bullet holes for the same reason you won't see much blood - instant R rating.

Really? I've seen a good amount of PG-13 rated films that have had people having bullet holes placed in them along with blood when getting shot.

Either the rules have been tightened or you're remembering more blood than there really was. I recall Nolan saying something about there being no blood when batman was pulverising the Joker in the police station because it would push the rating up. It's a silly rule that detracts from the realism and consequences of violence, but there you go.

Perhaps.lol, but I know without a doubt that Captain America had some good amounts of blood shown, heck...the guy protecting the Cosmic cube had his blood shown when getting shot, and there was one hydra soldier that was actually shown on screen to have been sliced up by a plane.

Actually, Nolan said they had fake blood on set ready to go, but they decided smearing and cracking the Joker's makeup was just as effective as showing blood.

I've definitely read something about the rating as well - how the Joker being beaten while he was down + spurts of blood would have pushed it over - but that make-up effect could also have been a happy medium too.

lol..well as I had mentioned with Captain America, there were was that one scene with the village chief being shot and having blood sprouting out. Then another with a hydra soldier being sliced up in front of the spinning blades on a airplane.

Rush Hour...I think some of the scene involving major characters being shot up close showed blood.

I'm not asking for a all out blood gore, just saying that if someone is shot on screen where it's very visible and that they're shown again, it'd be nice to see some realism where we see them having those wounds instead of them being presented as wounded but not having any scars or blood presented on them.

I'm on Team Ban this idiot.
