Jean won and he deserved it. Gary did a great job in Tinker Tailor, but nobody could have beat what Jean did in The Artist this year.

The Artist was a truly unique and amazing film IMO. After me and the wife finished watching it, we knew that film was going to be the film to beat at all the Award shows. It deserved winning Best Picture....easily.

The Artist was a truly unique and amazing film IMO. After me and the wife finished watching it, we knew that film was going to be the film to beat at all the Award shows. It deserved winning Best Picture....easily.

Totally agree. The only films that came close to it this year in my opinion were The Descendants and The Tree Of Life, but The Artist was far and away the best.

The way that film looked was just absolutely incredible. I could watch it with the sound off and still be completely glued to the TV for the entire film. Having that as the first award, it put a rotten taste in my mouth for the rest of the show. I mean Hugo? Really? It was a great film but nothing camera-wise left me in awe remotely close to the way Chivo's work did.

Absolutely. Shame on me I guess for thinking that he had it in the bag. It's really disappointing. I just can't see how he could lose. Regardless of what people think about ToL, it's undeniable that its cinematography was the best of the year.
