I dont know if this is a jab at me or compliment lol But I respect all opinions and my opinion on some other people who dont like the costume seem to have just wanted more of the same (ex. Batman Returns Costume/Arkham City Costume/ Cowl) This is unique/ bold/ and screams cat burglar without all the sillyness of the cowl or whip.
So unique and bold it looks like a modern Julie Newmar, but worse?

I'm not getting the "uniqueness" and "boldness" of it, but to each his own. I'll take the silly cowl and whip all day and every day.

Also others talk about the goggles....Calm down people Im sure the Goggles are gonna be very important to Nolan's Catwoman as well as the serrated edges on the shoes. Without any of that stuff and just the outfit she wouldn't be catwoman. The 'Goggles' are to Catwoman as 'Clown Makeup' is to Joker. 'Black Cat Burglar Suit' is to Catwoman as 'Purple Business Suit' is To Joker. 'Serrated Edge Stilettos' are to Catwoman as 'Knife Shoes' are To Joker.

"Everything has a purpose, NOTHING is added for fantasy sake" -Anne Hathaway on the cat suit.

Who cares if Catwoman and Bane are visually boring and unappealing? There's no correlation with bad costume designs to bad characters. We know Bane and Catwoman will be great, despite what they look like. It's all about their characters, that's the important thing. Catwoman could be in high-tech armor and not even be called Catwoman for all I care, it's Selina Kyle on film I want to see.

I care because I want to be pleased on both fronts. I mean, do you want visually boring and unappealing characters ?

All the functionality in the world doesn't change the fact that I think it looks ugly as sin.

I dont think Villian's are meant to be appealing. what are they suppose to be colorful like the joker? Is that why the Joker was appealing to everyone cause he was filled with appealing colors? Purple/Green/White makeup & Suits. I dont get understand.

How Is it worse? You never give me an explanation.
And how is it "unique" and "bold"? Have you explained that? Moreover, have you ever seen a cat burglar? If they look like what Anne's wearing, I'm quite certain you were fantasizing or they were burgling up poles rather than safes.

No of course not but what am I going to do? Would I have been happy if both were executed well, sure, but I can't change Nolan and Hemming's decisions. This is what we're getting, it's final.

Yeah, the designs flat out stink but we know the portrayals won't be. You just got to accept it and go with it. At least we have the other Catwoman images like Returns or Arkham or whatever one fancies.

of this suit or the cowl suit. I think this looks more cat burglar than the cowl/whip outfit

How is it "ugly as sin"?
I'll just put it this way. From the neck down, the costume is damn near close to perfect (minus the stilettos). It's sleek, elegant, and streamlined. A cowl would have complimented it very nicely, as it would have created an overall sense of uniformity.

Instead, we have a domino mask and these awkwardly-shaped mechanical goggles that I'm assuming are meant to resemble cat ears when flipped up. But the resemblance is barebones at best. Looking through set photos and sculptures we have of Catwoman, the "ears" look absolutely atrocious from a side profile, and any resemblance to cat ears is consequently destroyed. Suddenly, I'm seeing exactly what it is - high tech goggles flipped up onto her head.

The domino mask/goggles combination is clunky and awkward, and it clashes with the rest of the suit. The headgear and the bodysuit just arent's visually complimentary.

She looks like a stylized cat burglar, as she should. But any semblance to a cat motif has been stripped down to an absolute minimum, and the motifs that Nolan did decide to adopt (the cat ears) are pulled off in an incredibly uninspired fashion. After what Nolan did with The Joker, Two-Face, and Bane, this Catwoman is an utter disappointment. It doesn't muster any excitement in me whatsoever.

She's not just a cat burglar. She's a cat burglar with a cat motif. That's what separates her from the rest of the pack.

Off-topic, but related.

Congratulations to our favorite cinematographer on his signing on for his feature directorial debut!

Alcon Entertainment has acquired an untitled screenplay written by newcomer Jack Paglen that will mark the feature directorial debut of Wally Pfister, the Oscar-winning cinematographer whose credits include Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and Moneyball. The deal was made by Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, who’ll start pre-production immediately for an early fall shoot.

The logline is being kept under wraps, but the screenplay was developed by Straight Up Films, whose principals include Marisa Polvino, Kate Cohen and Regency Boies and Annie Marter. Polvino, Cohen and Marter will produce along with Johnson and Kosove. Boies will co-produce.

“We have been talking to Wally about making his directorial debut with Alcon for over a decade since we all worked together on Insomnia,” Johnson and Kosove said in a statement. “Wally is truly one of the most talented artists with whom we have ever collaborated. To now have the opportunity to work with Wally as a director on this truly remarkable project, is a company highlight for Alcon Entertainment.”

Pfister won his Oscar for Inception, one of seven films he has made with director Chris Nolan, starting with Memento. While this is his first feature, Pfister has directed commercials for several years and gained notice for his powerful work on PSAs for The Montana Meth Project, alongside directors Darren Aronofsky, Tony Kaye, and Alejandro Inarritu.

Pfister and Paglen are repped by ICM.

of this suit or the cowl suit. I think this looks more cat burglar than the cowl/whip outfit
The bodysuit is essentially the same as previous iterations, with as many "silly" elements, only substituted with metallic stilettos and techy visors.

So in other words "No, I have never seen a cat burglar." That observation is as helpful as "Nolan's batsuit is the closest we've had yet to a SWAT member".

I don't think a burglar would leave their hair out, flowing past their shoulders. One, that's evidence that's left behind (hair falls out all the time, now, at the scene of a crime). Two, that's more of your identity exposed (Caucasian brunette). Three, if you get into a confrontation it could easily get pulled.

There's really nothing "cat burglar" about it.

Not to mention the fact that I'm sure it would be quite annoying having long hair exposed (and consequently vulnerable) in a fight.

1-2) when does burglars ever protect everything from hair/skin?

3) as far i can tell even joker had his hair out why didn't batman yank on it? why didnt they get hair follicles from the bank heist? because its not important to the story :whatever:
