She's got no place to hold that gun, chances are, she took it from someone and it won't be used much.

I remember reading that she had a fight scene with some guy, and hit him in the eye with the butt of the gun; maybe she took it from him?

I just love the imagery of Catwoman with a gun, like Rags said, it reeks of desperation.

Heath's Joker also painted clown faces and cut smiles on his victims faces and pinned Joker cards to their bodies. He drove a circus truck with a (S)Laughter is the best medicine slogan on the side of it. He dressed up in Nurse drag. He dressed his men in clown masks. He hung Mike Engel upside down on TV with a red smile painted on his face and made him deliver his message to Gotham. He was still living up to the Joker persona by using Joker traits like those

You're absolutely right. But we still have to see TDKR. I think as long as they nail the core of her character, as they've tended to do, the rest will fall into place and it'll feel like Catwoman.

The big concern with TDK was that Nolan was gonna turn The Joker into John Doe or some Did Hard villain. Obviously that didn't happen. I think Nolan just likes to use some action film tropes and cliches in the aesthetics to make these characters feel more timeless and familiar to a wider audience. After all this whole genre is all about archetypes.
