At Zero7756, considering the extra who tweeted about a hostage scene with Morgan Freeman there, its a possibility Banes guys storm WE and take hostages and equipment.

yeah I know it's what we fans do (always breaking things down to the nth degree) but I can't help but to think of this particular picture. You see Bane with his scars.

Along with this I also spotted someone wearing a Gotham Rouges sweatshirt

That's Wally Pfister Cinematographer

You sure about that? :oldrazz:

For some reason, whenever I picture Selina Kyle on the Batpod, I instantly think of the Ewoks on the Speeders in Return of the Jedi.

Make it stop.

I can guarantee they won't be doing digital color correction on the scene. Nolan and Wally don't like loosing their original IMAX negative by putting it through an 8k digital transfer and printing it back on imax stock. That is why there wasn't a whole lot of CGI buildings and trains added to Gotham in TDK.

That is not to say it won't look drastically different from these spy photos, you can do a whole lot of gorgeous work in the development of the film stock.

That's pretty definitive sounding, but probably incorrect.

There will definitely be color correction, though I I assume it will be very, very natural looking. Davinci systems or Autodesk handle insanely large resolutions just fine.

Looking at Nolan's films-- especially Dark Knight, in which it looked to me like there was some heavy color grading in the IMAX scenes--- the man likes his control over color.

I wouldn't be shocked if much of the look was done in camera, though.

In any case, it's going to look different than it would if it were raw.

Well I like how Bane appears a bit taller in that last shot. Though the other shots there is no indication of "trickery." Perhaps they're filming in wide shots and the action will be quick from a distance so the size difference won't seem so apparent.

You don't have to go through a Digital Intermediate to colour correct a picture. I'm not an IMAX specialist, but I don't see why it couldn't be done the "old fashioned way", through various chemical baths for example, just the way it used to be done befor.

yeah i kinda thought the same.. maybe not with the hostages but that the opening sequence could be a break in at the R&D at WE .

so basically lots of break ins and break outs :P

Double post... The forums are acting weird with all that extra activity

As for a potential Catwoman spy picture, I just don't want to see it yet. I'd rather have them release an official photo before that happens.

So I'm pretty much left with this:

That's true, but unlikely.

The chemical process is tricky and sometimes unpredictable, though it has probably been refined a great deal.

Thing is, there's no point. The digital process looks just as good and you've got a far more control over the elements. And especially since there's probably going to be digital snow added, you can bet on some digital tweaking.

It's really neither here nor there. Wally Pfister is in my personal opinion, the greatest DP working in the industry today. He's like a modern day Jordan Cronenweth. You can sit back, relax and smile because you know with confidence-- this will be a beautifully shot movie, period. The bits and pieces don't matter.

My thoughts on all these new photos... and new news...

-Looks like the memory of Harvey Dent is alive and well. I'm glad they are going to evoke his memory into the storyline. Wonder how it will play out.

-Bane's henchmen look like League of Shadows members to me. I can't see how it can be denied that Bane is tied to the LOS, tied to Ras, and more reason to believe that Talia will show up.

-I also agree that spy pics don't give an accurate representation to what we will see on screen. I remember the spy pics of Heath as the Joker and thinking it looked weird, odd, etc. ... then on screen it looked GREAT!

Wally will never ever EVER do a DI. EVER. You hear him speak in person, that's made quite clear. :oldrazz:

They do chemical color-timing. It's actually faster and cheaper than doing a DI. Or so he says, I'm not familiar with the process myself. :funny:

Those are just mercenaries hired by Bane. Again, nothing leads us to believe LoS is involved in any way.

Must've been a new development with Dark Knight-- it still had a digital look to many of the scenes, but I guess the chemical process may've developed more than I thought.

Coulda swore I saw a Davinci logo in the TDK credits, though.

Was this the case with Batman Begins as well? The stuff in the burroughs looked intensely digital to me.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... they look like the same guys from the beginning of Batman Begins... oh, and Young Ras Al Ghul is in this movie... soooooo....

:)

Nope, Wally and Chris have never done a DI. Wally even said he'd retire if he was forced to do one.

The Doctor is a very happy man. :woot:

And if you're not happy with this brilliant piece of work, by all means, you can go back to this if it pleases you. :cwink:

Anyhow, like I said earlier:

I can't believe that people want to talk about things that don't matter, when there are MASSIVE plot details on full display-- and there's ZERO speculation about them. Craziness! All anyone wants to talk about is Bane's size and whether or not Talia is in the movie. Very annoying.

I mean, isn't anyone at thinking that Bane is sort of like the criminal's very own Batman? Looks like he's got a Tumbler, interesting costume. And the thing I brought up about him busting into Wayne enterprises and stealing Batman's gear to distribute among psychos... that's massive and at this point likely.

Why aren't we talking about this stuff?

Am I in the wrong topic, or something?

I'm new here, so gimme a hand.

BTW...if stuff looks digital, they do use CGI, but they put it back onto the negative before putting it onto film. Or...I think that's the process, as I said, I'm not familiar with it myself.
