WHY!? Superman is the one we sympathize with, his ideals win. Superman wins the battle that matters. Everything that actually matters to his character is honored why does the dignity of his character hinge on if he beats Batman and not if his morals remain. All those fans are disregarding what matters most about Superman all because he doesn't win a fight, now that is disgracing the character far more than anything this movie does.

Preach it!

After a 3 hour drive home I'll put in my 2 cents I guess. Keep in mind I'm a huge Superman fan and I think it was awesome. I won't nitpick it bt will say my score is a solid 9/10. Right there with TDK & Avengers. Not sure on the order of these top 3 for me, it's a close one for sure. Definitely an easy multi viewer lol

Maybe but you don't have a valid point how is Superman beating Batman any better. You have nothing he loses because he's unwilling to give it his all. Superman is the one we side with, Batman comes off in the wrong. Superman's ideals win. You have nothing to be mad about, nothing you can't actually give a reason this is bad treatment of the character, Superman winning the fight and killing Doomsday would be clearly biased to him. Stop complaining you have no reason to be mad, none.

I like how this guy tells people what they have no reason to complain about.

I'm still excited to see the movie. Cavill is one of my favorite Superman actors (just behind Reeve) so I was gonna see the movie anyways. And this has Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman on the big screen together for the first time, with the Justice League coming soon. No way I was gonna miss that.

But no Superman fan has to like or accept him being beaten by Batman. Many of us are tired of WB/DC playing that card. They could've had Superman take Batman down without embarrassing him and still had Batman put up a fight. But no, they had to go The Dark Knight Returns route, even after saying "No, it's not Dark Knight Returns". Hell, it may as well have been.

I wish Cavill had dialogue in the court scene.
Missed opportunity.
HOWEVER

Overall, Cavill had better dialogue and more to do in this film. His scenes with Lois were quite well done - especially the bath tub scene.

I've been so excited for that scene since it came up in the trailer! Does it happen after the desert terrorist stuff? And what do they talk about?

And what is the scene with them when he's in his suit and she's touching the S?

Thank you!

I'm sad from what I've heard about the court scene. I was hoping that Supes gave them a good ol ear full.

The court scene is the one that we deserve...but not the one that we need right now..so we'll blow it up before Superman can speak, because his fans can take it..lol

There's a lot more to TDKR than Batman beating Superman.I dont see Carrie,Harvey,Mutant Leader and Joker for starters.

I'm getting REALLY annoyed with people crying over the fact Batman wins.

Superman does NOT want to hurt people and...if he REALLY wanted too, he could easily kill Batman and Lex.

From what I've seen, in the fight scene before kryptonite is introduced , it's basically Superman pushing and throwing Batman away, keeping him away and stopping himself causing any deathly blow. I dare say if Superman wanted too, he could quite easily punch a hole in his head.

Batman was always going to win this fight because Superman doesn't believe in violence. Superman is morally good.

If Superman won, it would be the most hypocritical film ever. Superman does not agree with Batman and his ways, beating people to a pulp.

Exactly. There are many ways they could have done this. The Dark Knight Returns route? Already been there with the animated movie.

How was it executed in your opinion? For me, reading, it sounds ridiculous.
I thought it was executed pretty well but I think a lot of people might have a problem with this Batman, He practically slices his face with the spear when he's tied down to the ground (hopefully I have that right) and is about to straight-up execute him.

I'll need another viewing to take all of it in but I remember being bothered by Batman feeling justified in what he was doing. The fight itself was great though, the end had some feels with the Martha name coming up, a few too many flashback images during the Martha bit for me, but it was fine.

I was also bummed we didn't get a shirt rip either :( :supes:

All we get is the loosening the tie and the next thing we know he's already saved a lady out of the burning house.

hahaha that was perfect.

Jad

Sorry to be a pain but...

Is Lex aware Batman has kryptonite?

Does Lex actually tell Supes he has to fight Batman?

Does Lex say if Superman or Batman are both alive by the end of the fight Matha will die?

Do we get this scene?

Also...

Is Lex aware Batman has kryptonite?
Yes, Batman leaves a batarang in that glass case we see the kryptonite in in the trailer. When he's walking over the bullets in the trailer that's Lex walking to the case where it's supposed to be.
Does Lex actually tell Supes he has to fight Batman?
Pretty much, he kidnaps Mama Kent and shows him pics of her tied up and forces him to fight Batman (which is across the horizon with the bat signal lit) to the death. It was a little cheesy for me to be honest.
Does Lex say if Superman or Batman are both alive by the end of the fight Matha will die?
He says to Supes something along the lines of "If you kill me, she dies. If you fly off, she dies" then he might have said something else like that after.

I've been so excited for that scene since it came up in the trailer! Does it happen after the desert terrorist stuff? And what do they talk about?
Naw, the desert terrorist stuff is like the 3rd scene in the movie, I actually can't remember the exact scene that happens before him going to court. I know a few things happen though and there's Clark watching news discussion about him and he's frustrated with how he's being viewed.
And what is the scene with them when he's in his suit and she's touching the S?
If I remember correctly this scene is when Lois is trying to call Clark after the Capitol bombing and he's on her balcony as Superman and he's disappointed he didn't see the threat because he wasn't looking or focused. Then he talks about his dad and she eventually brings up the hope thing.

He's a straight up killer in this one. Running people over with the Batmobile, mowing them down with machine guns, even stabbing someone in the neck. It's very drastic and jarring.

Honestly don't have an issue with machine gunning goons down, as we've seen that in the Burton and Nolan flicks. But yeah, the neck stab is something else. Wow.
Wait, I didn't think he stabbed him in the neck, I thought it was the shoulder and he pinned him to the wall? Granted, that still doesn't sound very Batman-ish :funny: but I remember Bats getting stabbed in his side by the goon, him getting pissed and using that knife to pin him to the wall.

There's a scene where superman is flying over lex and it's supposed to be some God awful cgi and its very noticeable

It wasn't even close to God Awful, it was barely noticeable.
Not gonna lie, it was verrryyy noticeable to me. I was like "the f**k?"

It looked like a cardboard cutout moving down from the sky towards Lex with a moving cape. Good movie but it stuck out like a sore thumb to me.

I think I'm just a wrongen but that sounds great :D

Oh, well that's okay then. No problems with me.

Just going to say, regarding Batman killing and running people over in the Batmobile...

Pretty sure the car chase in Batman Begins would result in a death or two.

I'm 'ok' with Batman killing, I'm not loving it as goes against his rules but we are seeing a older, darker, angrier Batman in this film.

When you compare it to Marvel characters, how many villains has IronMan killed? Wolverine stabs nearly everyone he see's, Deadpool(totally permitted), Hawkeye and Black Widow...Batman killing in this movie shouldn't be a massive deal.

People complained about him letting Ras die. This is going to be 1000x the backlash.

random question:

how long is Barry Allen's hair? is Ezra sporting that shoulder length hair he's been lately, or is it shorter like in the Behind the Scenes Justice League/BVS/WW Special?

It was pretty long I think, tied back in a ponytail type thing with some going to the front. He kinda had this look going on in the surveillance footage of him.
