There's literally a fricking montage of Superman doing heroic things..

In this movie it pretty much is in the grand scheme of the plot. Unless you consider it heroic for him to just stand with a worried expression on his face while being spoken and lectured to by Lex, Lois, Martha, Batman, Senator Finch and even Perry when he's Clark. The list goes on.

Superman saving Lois in Africa and storing terrorists is not a montage

Because thats what it pretty much is. Especially with the kryptonite equalizer. He goes down like a *****. It was remarkably dumb.

The simplest thing to have done is make it more balanced with both being down then Lois intervenes. Bats is able to get up faster and respond since Supes is still pretty affected by the kryptonite. Thats all. Thats all it would have taken. Instead we have a filmmaker who created an unecessarily divisive superman film with him killing and now having him Beaten by Bats big time. It's stupid and pointless. Yes he does sacrifice himself in the end and thats what I have always said that this is the ONLY time Snyder does anything right with the character in this film. But why should any Superman fan have to stupidly wait until the last 1/4 of the movie to see Superman finally portrayed like a real hero. Its poor character writing and poor understsnding of the character.

Waiting until the last 1/4 of the movie or the 3rd act for Superman to be portrayed like a hero is not going to sit well. Imagine what's going to be like in the JL Part 1 if he were to get revive in the 3rd act as well.

I've said that they have to please the both fanbases, but it's clear they failed and they ended up dividing more when they satisfied one fan base and tick off another.

Taking inspiration from TDKReturns was a mistake. I said it back then, and it looks to be true now.

I'll wait for somebody to post footage on Youtube after the film is released this Friday.

When it comes out on DVD, I'll skip the majority of the movie and get to the Trinity fighting Doomsday.

That's what I was worried about. Synder lied when he stated he was a Sups fan; I think it was just only for man of steel promotion. What kind of a "fan" would take inspiration from a comic whose author admitted to hating Superman?

Look at this films great portrayal of batman, and look at sups from man of steel and this film. Apparently Batman is given much more better treatment in an hour than superman was in Man of steel and now BVS.

I lost all sorts of respect for Zack, and this is coming from someone who loved MOS.

Pretty dumb haha

I swear, some people are acting like BvS is the worst thing ever for Superman fans.

Again I never said the film is bad. I said it was overall decent and relatively entertaining. However it definitely does Superman fans A major disservice and I consider it a disappointment given that I was cautiously optimistic. Now, I'm of very mixed opinion of the film overall and am super frustrated with what they've done with Supes. It's beyond dumb and makes little to no sense. People are of course welcome to disagree when they've seen the film but there are some extremely positive reactions and very mixed reactions. I'm very much in the latter. I wonder if this was somehow driven more by WB execs to have Batman more front and center. To me, Wonder Woman fought better against Doomsday as well which is is just as stupid given that in the comics it was Supes who carried and ended the fight all the way.

I always wanted a DCCU but if this is how the characters are going to be treated, then I'm not really looking forward to it. I might just continuously lean towards marvel films from now on.

good ****ing lord

So kryptonite effects Superman (like it always does... that is its purpose in every Superman story, to be the one thing that can kill him) and some Superman fans here are complaining about their hero being ruined by something that happens in just about every Superman story where kryptonite shows up?

It seems like people are forgetting about Superman Returns, where he goes down like a b*** to Lex. At least he still delivers a beating onto Batman, as seen in the trailers for BvS.

The problem isn't that, it's that Kryptonite is used as a crutch that makes Batman so one-sided in the fight. Even with his mech suit, there's no way Batman would survive getting thrashed upwards of a building without some injuries. And yet, Batman is seemingly alright. Whereas, everything that Batman does to Superman has a huge effect on him.

Certain things being said by spoilers makes the fight sound inconsistent as ****.

It's like TDKR all over again, everything works in Batman's favor.

I agree with your take on things Xiewin. I look at things like Winter soldier and daredevil and marvel at the relative widespread acclaim, minimal controversy and minimal divisiveness of those. This could easily happen with the DCCU but this film makes it very difficult to do that primarily due to the subpar director involved. There are dozens of better more capable directors to captain the DCCU ship but WB are going with Snyder, a very average filmmaker.

Superman fans are just tired of Batman and Superman fighting. Superman fans almost never take to the internet to talk about how Superman would crush any other superhero but there's a lot of Batman fans (usually just movie/game fans who read wikipedia summaries of comic arcs), who will come onto the internet and be obnoxious and talk about how their fake-dad can beat up anyone else's fake-dad.

Batman is the guilty pleasure superhero for people that don't like superheroes because he's had grittier portrayals and those casual Batman fans see other superheroes, especially Superman, as the polar opposite (despite real comic fans knowing Superman and Batman are really very similar characters.)

DC's cartoon and comic writers have plenty of times in the past had Batman "one-up" other heroes by acting *****ey to them. Hell they have him do it to Gordon and his sidekicks a lot. Particularly guys like Timm and Dini who admitted to not liking the other characters as much and not putting in the effort to portray them correctly.

Like I said before, everyone should just ignore those kinds of fans, because letting people on the internet bother you is silly, but no matter how logical you are, when you've been hearing it for all 20 years of your life, it gets tired and old. That's where people want to see Batman get a "come uppance" of sorts. Like how many Batman fans were INSANELY bothered by that panel of Aquaman choking him out, and how their reactions to these things are writing up scenarios in which Batman winds up beating Aquaman in a fight or seduces Mera, to "get back" at a fictional character. Like I said, "my fake dad can beat up your fake dad." It's a weird phenomenon.

The entire thing is silly and it doesn't bother me usually since I'm pretty good at ****-talking people like that, but I'm trying to get people to understand why some people have a chip on their shoulder over Batman or his fans.

It's not logical, but it IS understandable.

It more bothers me because I don't like portrayals of one of my heroes when he's a paranoid control freak who can't treat Dick Grayson, Jim Gordon, or other league members with respect to give him some cheap character flaws or make him seem "badass."

Do we really need to see Superman doing heroic things to know hes a good person... a hero?

I mean... we get that with EVERY superman movie... why can't it be established here without us having to see all that ******** over and over... what did you want? a plane starting to crash? maybe he could put it on a football field this time.

Snyder was a terrible choice, I regret for ever defending the guy

Superman fans think of Batman fans as obnoxious bullies or something but they don't realize that they ome off just as obnoxious but instead of ******* bulies, they'really more like whining *****es for the most part.

But eh, for me it's like I'very said before...So glad I love BOTH!
