Him being a genius doesn't mean that he can automatically find out all these peoples identities as if it is that easy.

I'm genuinely not sure what the Knightmare was even supposed to be. It seems like it's not just a dream as Flash shows up to warn Bruce about it and change the past, but then that's also a dream. How is Flash appearing in Bruce's dreams? And if this is the future, why the hell can Bruce now see the future?

Because people dont understand what the eff was going on. How can something be a tease if people don't even know what the tease is. The Flash being in Bruce's dream was hard enough to figure out. If people don't know that was the Flash, what is the point?

So if people don't know who "The Twins" are, or what that weird cube thing is...you know what, it's not worth it...

The cube is explained. The Twins were explained. Flash's weird prophetic **** wasn't. All it did was confuse viewers who didn't know Flash and what the hell he was talking about. It chopped up the movie so unnecessarily. I heard whispers after that scene. No one knew what it was and it was never explained.

And if it's supposed to be some sort of explanation for Bruce's motivation to kill Superman, we already got plenty of that.

He doesn't want Batman dead. He is trying to put Superman in a box, an unwinnable situation:

He has set things in motion so that Superman will either kill Batman and deliver his head to the site of the scout ship (where there are hundreds of network news cameras) or be killed in the fight himself.

It is Luthor's way of either exposing Luthor as a false God and a murderer or straight-up making sure Superman is killed.


Doomsday is his fail safe in the event that Superman somehow saves Martha without killing Batman. But, like Icarus (who Luthor mentions when comparing him to Zod) Luthor flies too close to the sun, believing he can control the God that he created. He's wrong and his hubris is his downfall.

Once I explained that to my friends after the movie they got it and thought it was cool, but it really needed just a subtle touch to let you know it was a dream or being pulled forward into the future.
Snyder has said that he wanted that to feel open ended so people would debate it but unfortunately it's left people confused.

What did you think about the film?

I wrote a review in the review thread. I liked it overall, but wasn't satisfied with superman's portrayal. The performances and some decent dialogue (for all characters not named superman, lol) saved it.

It doesn't matter who the man in red is. All the audience needs to know is that it's a good guy who knows Bruce and is from the future. And he's a metahuman who warns Bruce about Superman and tells him to find the other metahumans, thus fueling Bruce's motivation to take down Superman and justifying his ultimate search for more powered people.

That's all they need to know. When they see the rest of the films in the series, the picture will become more clear. And that's fine. You are allowed to build stories/plot lines over multiple films when telling stories like this.

That's all find and dandy if they understand what is going on in the rest of the film. My friends aren't comic book people, they just like comic book movies for the most part and they were confused about half the stuff going on in this movie.
