BvS The Unabashed SPOILER Thread. ENTER AT OWN RISK. - Part 6

Ok, I watched this afternoon. So happy I avoided the spoilers.
I expected to hate it but ended up wondering why so much backlash.

I followed for the most part but my question would be...
(Apologies in advance if they have been asked before)

Who was the hero that spoke to Bruce about Lois being the key?
I'm pretty up on my comic geek stuff but did not recognize.
I know Flash speaks to Batman from the future in Crisis but that wasn't Flash, I don't think.

It was, just with a futuristic/apocalyptic suit and some facial hair. That's why it didn't look too much like the Flash.

I thought it would have made more sense if Bruce woke from the knightmare, looked through the files, and then, after seeing Flash's (which would be last) he gets the vision from Flash. That would have cemented the connection between the two.

No it was much better structuring on Snyder and Terrio's part to interrupt the finale of the film to have Wonder Woman teleport between locations to open up email files.

Didn't she just walk from the lobby to her hotel room? Personally Bruce should have opened the files when he opened hers. I would have preferred to see his reaction to some of those files anyway. Plus that wasn't the finale of the film.

Blame Goyer's initial draft for the bad structuring, not Terrio.

Terrio just rewritten the script not changed the entire film wholesale.

I suspect Terrio polished dialogue, and maybe did some structuring, but contributed minimal ideas....

It will be interesting to see how he does with the whole JL script from bottom's up.

No, blame snyder and terrio. Even goyer wouldnt write something this bad. Maybe terrio isnt cut out for writing superhero movies. Winning an Oscar doesn't mean everything you do will be good.

Personally I don't know if any of us can know entirely who gets what blame. We really don't know what has been going on behind the scenes. For all we know Goyer's original script was the second coming of Jesus.

I honestly don't know who to blame. I know many are going after Terrio and calling him the false god, but I'm not sure if it was Terrio trying to polish a turd or what...

Somehow Goyer again becomes the scapegoat.

Nevermind his contributions to The Dark Knight Trilogy...

Do you honestly think David Goyer would wholesale misfire on the characters in this way?

The director runs the film. He could have called for another rewrite or just had a script doctor on hand to fix what needed fixing. Any flaws in the writing belong to him just as much as either of the writers.

I don't know... he let Superman kill Zod without establishing why that would be a rather huge deal for Superman since we have no mention of his no kill rule. And I was one of the apologists.

Superman killing.Zod was all.Snyder. that has his stink all over it. He thought he was being cute.

It was The Flash, from a potentially alternate future.

It's implied it wasn't a dream, but a vision caused by the Flash time-travelling.

so, about the scene with Superman speed blitzing the African Warlord at the beginning.

many here have contended that Superman killed that guy.

while it was heavyhanded on Superman's part, it wasn't clear if he killed the guy. And Clark himself said he didn't kill anyone. I believe one other character ( either Lois or Martha ) also mentioned that.

So, I'm going to take Clark's word on it and say he didn't kill the guy - he just ***** him up pretty badly.

if he did kill him, I think that Senator lady or someone else on the news would have made a point about it to further smear Superman.

besides, how he acted in that scene was very much in line with how this Superman acts whenever someone threatens Lois and his mother.

Superman killing Zod was one of the best things in that film. Are people still crying over Superman breaking a rule that he never really had?

It doesn't bother me. I understand what Snyder was going for and think it was conveyed.

I'm just rallying against people blaming Goyer for it because they don't like it. Goyer has continually been the scapegoat for everything people have disliked in Nolan's and Snyder's movies and its rarely warranted.

It baffles me that people think the actual writing quality in this is poor. Whatever.

Clark saying he didn't kill anyone was good enough for me. No need to waste brain power on it when it's said so clearly. I reckon he made a cage around the guy out of himself when he flew through the wall.

Like I said we don't know what happened. Goyer's script could have been great. Mabe it was a lost cause. Maybe it was a great script and Terrio polished it up even better. We don't know. From what I've heard the film was originally four hours long. Snyder currently it into 3 hours and brought that to WB. The higher ups told him make it two and a half. I doubt much of the script remained after losing about 30 percent of it.
