This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]511617[/split]
Ok, I watched this afternoon. So happy I avoided the spoilers.
I expected to hate it but ended up wondering why so much backlash.
I followed for the most part but my question would be...
(Apologies in advance if they have been asked before)
Who was the hero that spoke to Bruce about Lois being the key?
I'm pretty up on my comic geek stuff but did not recognize.
I know Flash speaks to Batman from the future in Crisis but that wasn't Flash, I don't think.
No it was much better structuring on Snyder and Terrio's part to interrupt the finale of the film to have Wonder Woman teleport between locations to open up email files.
Blame Goyer's initial draft for the bad structuring, not Terrio.
Terrio just rewritten the script not changed the entire film wholesale.
Somehow Goyer again becomes the scapegoat.
Nevermind his contributions to The Dark Knight Trilogy...
Do you honestly think David Goyer would wholesale misfire on the characters in this way?
I don't know... he let Superman kill Zod without establishing why that would be a rather huge deal for Superman since we have no mention of his no kill rule. And I was one of the apologists.
It baffles me that people think the actual writing quality in this is poor. Whatever.
so, about the scene with Superman speed blitzing the African Warlord at the beginning.
many here have contended that Superman killed that guy.
while it was heavyhanded on Superman's part, it wasn't clear if he killed the guy. And Clark himself said he didn't kill anyone. I believe one other character ( either Lois or Martha ) also mentioned that.
So, I'm going to take Clark's word on it and say he didn't kill the guy - he just ***** him up pretty badly.
if he did kill him, I think that Senator lady or someone else on the news would have made a point about it to further smear Superman.
besides, how he acted in that scene was very much in line with how this Superman acts whenever someone threatens Lois and his mother.
