It's weird how they keep showing mostly Batman getting hits in during the trailers and Superman looking weak.

I wonder if they're actually trying to hide that he gets a second wind in the fight and it's a draw or he outright wins and doesn't kill or injure Batman, leading to the trust between them.

It's probably just wishful thinking, because I've already prepared myself for the fact that the movie is likely to pander to Batman fans over Superman fans.

There's been plenty of shots of Superman bashing Batman aswell to be fair but there has been more of Batman.

The Superman ones are mostly quick. I get that they have to sell non-comic readers on the idea that Batman COULD survive in a situation like this but it definitely is weighted more on Batman's side.

I agree...they need to sell to the GA. Batman has been a cash cow for them and seeing him go toe-to-toe will get butts in seats.

Don't you think that could be because Superman's attacks would be swifter and quicker though?

Agreed. Supes has that explosive takeoff speed, like rushing through the smoke, or flying Batman through the building.

I'm just preparing for Superman to get the short end of the stick and hoping for him to not take a backseat for once.

Personally, I think it's going to be a massive case of The Dark Knight Returns. We see in the trailer Superman catching a bullet/dart shot by Batman, I wouldn't be surprised if this exploded and was actually a kryptonite gas grenade of some sort which gets into Superman's body, weakening him but not completely stripping him of his powers.

I think Batman will have the upper hand due to Superman holding back the entire fight until kryptonite comes into play, at which point it will be too late for Superman anyways. I actually think Superman will allow Batman to beat him up and surrender to him, after the reaction he got from killing Zod, Superman will not want it to go as far as killing Batman. I then think Batman will see the good in him, and see that even when he's most vulnerable, he can actually be trusted.

I hope they really show Superman hurting, as he's so not used to feeling physical pain or being vulnerable. Similar to original movies in Superman 2 when Clark goes into a diner after surrendering his powers to be with Lois. He couldn't take a beating because he wasn't used to feeling pain after being hit.

That's what I'm hoping, for the audience to be able to see that Superman is holding back. They have the line "If I wanted it - you'd be dead already", but all kinds of sources are saying he tries to subdue Batman and outright loses unquestionably which is irritating. I know they can't be trusted, but I don't like the idea of it.

As far as feeling pain, he felt plenty in MoS.

He felt pain yes, but not in the sense of being 'mortal' as we're going to see in BVS. In MOS, the end fight was basically two Gods fighting each other. They were cancelling each other out.

Zod even says 'There's only two ways this ends Kal, either you die or I do'

Their punches as powerful as they were, weren't really hurting one-another. There was no blood, no bruises etc. I mean they we're throwing each other through buildings and it didn't really seem to phase them. Zod more or less surrendered to Superman in the end, he knew that the fight could go on forever and that their fight would continue until one of them died. Zod had no reason to live anymore and wanted Kal to feel his pain by making him watch as he murdered people.

So yes, he did feel pain in that sense, I wouldn't say he felt a massive amount of physical pain though

Clark had a fair amount of screams of pain and was shown getting roughed up, the only difference is this time Kryptonite is going to be involved and they need to play it up more because it's a human going at him and they need to sell it to the audience.

It could be a case of how its perceived, I don't think Batman beats Superman by simple planning it's going to be a case of Superman not fighting back.

What gets me is if it's the other way, Batman is clearly the villain of the two yet he'd still won the fight? I don't get how that works at all.

Not trusting any spoilers that come from reddit or 4chan as they could scream fan fiction wanting attention.

Seeing the trailers in how the fight will go down, I think they're holding back on Superman's side as he could get the second wind against Batman.

The difference between this and Dark Knight Returns is that the roles between Superman and Batman are reversed in that Superman does not work for the government while I think Batman does, which makes sense since he worked with Commissioner Gordon and the police. Other difference is that Batman doesn't have help from Green Arrow and Robin Carrie Kelly like in the DK Returns. He's on his own here.

I don't think either of them work for the Government. Batman wants to bring Superman down simply because he thinks he's to dangerous and if he ever turned back would destroy us all.

Superman doesn't agree with Batman's brand of justice.

Supes looks in agony

For a few seconds before he smiles and says "PSYCH!".

Definitely - both are their own men, unconnected to the government.

Only connections Superman has to the Government will be similar to MOS, where the Government are trying to control him, having and using him as part of their arsenal to which he says No.

However, I do think Lex will have massive connections to the Government, and with Lex being the puppet master, he will no doubt convince the Government to act out against Superman and/or Batman.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Lex's idea to summon Superman to the court hearing using his connections to the senator, From the trailer, he seems he's trying to sway her opinion.

I'm surprised WB didn't team up with Ex-Lax for some additional marketing.

Hopefully late tonight we start getting full reviews from fans who get to see it. Should be fun.
