So all in all, I'm pretty much completely alone in my issues with superman dying in this film. ****.lol

You guys are lucky indeed.haha Man, it sucks like hell to care about this. Why couldn't I grow up being more of a batman fan?

Well if it's of any consolation to u guys, u won't have to worry about me causing a ruckus in here when the film comes out and ends with Superman's death since I don't want to spoil everyone's mood here from having enjoyed the film.

If I wanted to watch Superman die, I'd pop in the Doomsday or All-Star Superman animated movie. Do we need to see him again in a film like Batman v Superman?

According to 99% of the consensus here, apparently so.lol

I don't want him to but I'm open minded to the possibility of it which is probably for the best, I don't want to watch him to die but I'm not completely against it either which is kind of how I work with my expectations of the movies I don't really have expectations other than good characters and arcs and a good emotional story my expectations begin and end there.

A review, if it's to be believed said it ends with
Batman and Superman together, basically preparing to another adventure, World's Finest style.

Forming the Justice League without Superman is going to be a tough sell.

Exposure to the animated SD movie or Death of Superman in the comics is extremely limited. Most people aren't intimately familiar with that story arc and it seems a significant segment of the population isn't even aware of the 90's comic run. It is somewhat of a tear jerker and adds tremendous entertainment value. I'm surprised you don't see how Superman centric this is if it turns out to be true. The only way they can botch this is if they don't do his character justice and make him the one that takes Doomsday down at the cost of his own life. That would be a sad day for Superman and DC in general.

We really don't know do we? I think it's the not knowing for sure that's bothering some of us.

I think it will turn out to not be what we expect. I'll say again the fact those particular images from a screening leaked is very fishy to me (that's not an Aquaman reference :cwink:). I think this is one boy curve ball.

If they manage to leave both die-hard Superman and Batman fans feeling satisfied and happy after the movie, then they deserve a lot of credit IMO. Both fan bases consist of a lot of sensitive and easily upset babies, it must be said.

It isn't even confirmed if Superman dies. The 'leaked pic' is taken way out of context. We don't know when in the movie it takes place, or even he's simply pushed/attacked to the ground. We don't know, it's just a static image.

Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

I think people are overlooking the fact that his suit has damage. It didn't get a mark on it throughout MoS.

That's why I'm contemplating the dream/vision theory. The most teams we've seen marks like that on his suit in the comics has been where magic is involved. Black Adam vision cameo? They did cast the Rock very early same as Ezra.

I tried to resist, but caved and had a look. The 3 pics I saw (assuming they're the same as what you're all talking about) do look pretty damning. I know context has to be taken into account, but sometimes things are what they seem to be at first glance.

Of course, if this is the case, I'm sure it's not going to be permanent and they'll bring him back. It does just seem a bit .............. I dunno, rushed? He hasn't been around for that long in the grand scheme of things in the DC universe.

In saying that, when this film was announced I didn't think we'd see (a) Doomsday or (b) Superman dying, but the movies obviously work at their own pace and with their own key elements as compared to the comparatively slow pace of the comics, so perhaps this would be a good way to unite the people of Earth who seem divided in their opinion of Superman at the beginning of BvS.

As I said above, I think this is the best time. Because half the world doesn't want/like Superman at all, they don't trust him. So him sacrificing himself for humanity would show them how much he truly cares.

This.

Like I said this is so entertaining seeing how much this is bothering some of you :woot: Got my popcorn.

Foreal.

"If Superman dies I'm jumping off a bridge. Then I'm going to LA to beat up Snyder. Then I'm going to cry myself to sleep. I quit the DCEU. I quit!!"

:lmao: All from a couple photo stills of a 3 hour film.

Tbh it does feel to soon if they are doing the whole death of storyline. I mean he's been around for less than two years in this movies timeline. Feels abit premature to do it.

Guess we'll have to wait. For now I'm definitely more on the side of it been part of a vision mostly because of the scorched S and that been due to magic in the comics I've read.

I'm a big picture type of person. If it's a Disney Death and he comes back to beat Doomsday I'm fine with it. If Supes dies foreal though there will be a lot more people leaving the film as Superman fans then there were people going in as Batman fans. So I'm fine with that too.

"preparing for another adventure"

just another random "adventure", when Justice League is the next movie, considered by Terrio to be the third in a trilogy

Preparing for another "adventure" when I doubt BvS could be considered an adventure in any sense of the word.

Yeah right.

I think the general public has an awareness that Superman was once killed off. It made a pretty big media splash back in the day with newspapers and cable news. But regarding the specifics, I doubt most will remember those plot points and will weigh the merits of this idea according to how well Snyder executes it here.
