All this Superman death talk reminds me of the debate about the ending to TDKR a week or so before it came out haha. Batman dead? Nobody believed that it was the Alfred cafe scene, it sounded so dumb. Yet that was it.

That flying into the sun thing sounds like it COULD be legit, it's just dumb enough...

I'm still in the camp that WW decapitates Doomsday, and Superman does not die.

Superman falls from the sky after stopping DD. The Hulk catches him while destroying a building. Hulk then punches Bruce and says, "puny Batgod." The masses will lap it up!

Funny you should mention that. I've been playing around in my mind lately how a JL/Avengers movie could happen (aside from WB/DC and Marvel agreeing to it or hell freezing over, whichever comes first) and with the potential Darkseid angle, I imagine that somehow in the aftermath of the battle with Doomsday (weeks/months later), Superman is, after a confrontation with Darkseid, Boom Tubed to Avengers Earth and the first being he runs into is the Hulk still on the run after the evens in Age of Ultron.

Something like the Boom Tube ports Superman into the Quinjet the Hulk is fleeing in and it crashes, pissing off Hulk. It happens to crash near civilians in a rather remote area. As he gets up, Superman sees terrified people running from a green rage monster . This, after he not too long before fought a gray rage monster.

Of course, the two titans battle it out, with Superman barely winning. In my mind, I have him punching Hulk in solar plexus as Hulk is exhaling, causing him to lose his breath, then Superman grabbing Hulk holding from behind in a kind of reverse bear hug, preventing him from breathing, holding on for dear life as Hulk thrashes around wildly. Eventually, Hulk passes out from lack of oxygen, with Superman seeing him reverting back into Bruce Banner.

Just so happens, the Avengers arrive on the scene, having being tracking the Hulk all this time. They see their ally unconscious on the ground (at least, they hope he's unconscious and not worse) with some stranger in a costume looking over him. You know what comes next--Superman vs the Avengers!

Superman is holding his own, but he is going up against:

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Vision
Scarlett Witch
Quicksilver (in my head cannon, he survived)
Black Widow
Hawkeye

However, before long, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and CW Flash and Green Arrow (hey, I said this is my head cannon) Boom Tube to Avengers Earth to rescue Superman. And of course they see their ally being assailed by a group of costumed characters, so you know what comes next--JLA vs Avengers!

Oh, and Banner wakes up and sees this is a Code Green. Suffice to say, the defecation slams into the oscillation machine.

Somehow, the two groups are in the middle of a game of thrones--er, I mean chess between Darkseid and Thanos. Still working things out in my mind, but there you go.

I wrote that up in a 4chan thread last night in the wake of people using tripcodes and suddenly posting spoilers.

I almost immediately admitted it was fake, though.

I saw that get posted on another site :funny:

How are you feeling now, herolee?

The frustration comes and goes.lol

But I think a part of me is slowly beginning to accept that Superman may stay dead by the end of the film.

If anything, I just have to make sure that my expectations for the character's portrayal isn't placed on such a high pedestal. Nor should I expect anything for the character in JL. When I'm good on those fronts then I think I can probably accept this film for what it is...IF it's an good film overall.

Will you be seeing BvS in cinemas, then? Or will it still be a case of finding out the ending first?

Well I'll definitely find out, one way or another, on what really goes on in this film before next week's public release.

As for whether I'll end up seeing it....IF the scenario ends up truly being the worst case, I guess it'll really depend on how much I was able to accept the reality of Superman's role in this DCEU before I can actually watch it unfold.

I think the biggest issue here is that, once again, I had mistaken built up such high and unrealistic expectations of what I thought I would see out of Superman's character in the coming films. If I hadn't done this, then I don't think I would have spent the last few months ranting and moaning about this issue.

lol...it depends. :o:oldrazz:

It's not exactly cheap going out to the theaters and I never go out to watch something unless I know that I'm going to enjoy it.

If it's the worst case scenario and if I'm not in a good mood, then I probably won't even see it until I can watch it online months afterwards..and that's if I'm very bored.

I hope you do see it, herolee. Cavill is great in the part, and you've waited long enough for another live action Superman.

Alright, found some supposed dialogue from Lex Luthor after the Batman/Superman fight. If this is true he might just win me over, after I was HIGHLY skeptical of his casting.

"By the way, you were the BOMB in Phantoms."

Apparently while Superman is rescuing Lois, Aquaman, and some other captives from Lexcorp's lower levels, Batman tries to sneak his way through the upper floors to confront Luthor. He accidentally sets off security measures due to being battered from his fight with Superman. Wearing him down further, he's assaulted by security drones in the walls. Nearly unconscious, he falls as he makes his way into Lex's office. Lex takes a poker from his nearby fireplace and savagely beats Batman over the back with it. "Did you really think you were just going to WALK in here and arrest ME? You're not nearly as smart as you think you are.....Bruce." Batman looks up in horror. Lex crouches down to meet him eye to eye. "By the way, you were the BOMB in Phantoms."

Sounds o much like fanfic

It's because he's so great in the role that it makes it hard to imagine/witness his Superman being used in a certain way. If I didn't feel attached to Cavill's Superman, then I wouldn't care as much about his version of Superman staying dead in BvS.

And I certainly wouldn't feel bad about his Superman potentially missing out on so much in JL.

If anyone got the joke you're my friend

Not that I'm trying to be mean or a pain about it, but there's a fine line between joking about fake spoilers and actually creating a frenzy by posing fake spoilers to get a reaction from those who would easily believe them to be true.

Well the ones I actually posted here are clearly a joke/reference from the last line, the other ones I never intended to wind up here, I was making fun of 4chan who had "seen the movie" and giving "spoilers" to bait replies.

First off, I'm not your friend buddy.

Secondly, the first half isn't legit right?

No, it was just meant to lead into the joke.

Alright look this got a big laugh everywhere else I posted it, I got greedy.

I took a screen grab from the latest TV spot

Supes looks in agony

Superman will experience pain. It's time for him to feel what it's like to be a man. #falsegod
