The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 16 "A" Discussion Thread

So, is the general consensus that Terminus=The Hunters?

Yep, they've been supersized.

Really liked this finale, moreso than last year's. I'm now looking forward to the new season where I wasn't last spring.

Don't tell me the season is gonna end with them all trapped in a gaint metal container....

Why not? It's a set up for season five. It's better than them all escaping within ten minutes. I think the escape plot will be interesting.

i thought it was great. Something tells me Terminus is more than just hunters/cannibals, something very bad/sad happened to them. That room with the names of people they've lost, a huge betrayal? Just a very elaborate way to go about capturing Rick, I mean they had them put down their weapons only to rearm them, leading to one of there own getting killed?

can't wait til October:woot:

Was anyone else surprised that nobody died? I guess that whole "A character who is still alive in the comic is going to die in the finale" rumor was bogus.

Well, nobody important died at least. The way Rick took out Joe was brutal.
beth could have been the one being cooked by mary.

was that rick's watch that he gave carol? and what was up with all the formula on the ground before they went into the train?

doesn't that imply that carol/judith are in the train with the rest of them?

The watch was Glenn's that Hershel gave him. That was referenced this episode. And is in Yeun's title card every episode.

It was powdered milk, not formula. Totally different things.

Well there are two unanswered plot trends still out there. Tryresse and Carol still have yet to make it to Terminus, and what happened to Beth? Who was driving the car? If it was just her why did she leave Daryol? So I assume we will see in the fall....

It just occurred to me...is it possible that Beth is with Gabriel, from the comics? He was a priest, and there was a cross on the car that drove off with her. I don't want to give away too much of his backstory, but it would make sense if he was the one giving proper sendoffs to the walkers in that funeral home.

season 4 has been awful, by far the worst season...but this episode was AWESOME! easily the best we've seen from the show in a long time. i hope this level of quality continues into the next season.

i totally dig their take on the cannibals.

this song is most appropriate...

Awesome 'Love Actually' reference by that fan on Talking Dad lol.

Yeah that was. The whole hour was great. Weird seeing Andrew Lincoln laugh and be giddy. He's hilarious.

And goddamn that finale was great. Season four has been the best season yet. Season three almost lost me. I am beyond glad I stuck around because next season seems nutso!

Rick was so brutal. My only wish is that they just used the F-bomb. Just do it. They could have muted it like they did on Breaking Bad. C'mon.

muting or bleeping the f-word would have just been super cheesy.

i still think season 2 was by far the worst season.

They've bleeped it out on Mad Men as well. I'm guessing they push their 'what's ok to show on TV' limit with the violence that they have to sacrifice some of the language? I have no idea...

It was a pretty terrific finale. I had a feeling we were going to see Rick do that to Joe like he did in the comics, but it was fun getting the horrified text messages from my mom and sister when it happened. (which were followed by "Go Rick!!" messages).

i dunno how they're gonna deal with cursing once Negan comes around.

With an actor giving off that much intensity like Lincoln was in that scene... I doubt that. It was never cheesy in Breaking Bad. The point gets across and that's all that matters. At least they filmed that version for the blu ray.

I feel like the famous line was short-changed here. Meh, small complaint.

Yeah...not even close. S2 was much, much inferior. S3 was a step up (but that wasn't hard to do) but S3 mishandeled great material and made for a thoroughly underwhelming season of what should have been the most iconic. S4, while not perfect, has at least made some small steps towards getting a bit of the quality the comics have.

i'll take season 2 over season 4. season 2 may have been slow paced and drawn out, but there were lots of good character moments and the story was comprehensible. and like you said, they really screwed up the governor story. which, like the comics, should of been the story at it's best. that is unforgivable. i felt season 4 has been a mess, a total mish-mash with no focus and inferior writing. the first half of season 4 was just a wrap up of the continued crappiness left over from season 3. and the second half of season 4 had no story, it was all set up for terminus. season 3 should of been the end of season 3. and season 4 should of been terminus.

The Governor swore a lot in the comics, too, and they side stepped that.

there is a world of difference between what cursing was to the governor, or any other person...and what cursing is to Negan. it's one of his most defining traits as a character...that, and lucille. oh, lucille.

Great finale to a great season. The show just keeps getting better and better with each season

Yeah I know his cursing is probably his most famous trait, but that's to the comic fans. The general audience would be none the wiser. Just like with a lot of changes they did.

For example the most famous thing about Dale in the comics was his romantic relationship with Andrea, but that didn't exist in the show, and Dale was still great.

I don't think Negan needs a constant potty mouth to work.

The "A" means grade A beef. Theyre all lean.

And yea Rick saying "Screwing" was so eye-roll inducing. I hate when tv shows use that word. No one says that in real life. (Except carpenters) I would have much prefered a muted "****ing" and then just wait for the uncensored bluray.
