The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 9 Discussion Thread

Didn't like to direction it went but it was still a well made episode

Poor Sasha. :( Too many big losses so soon.

I don't think any show has killed off to major characters back to back like this.

Very depressing episode. I thought the skeleton with the flowers and grass growing out of it was a cool visual. How devastating for Noah to return home and find his neighborhood decimated like that. I thought Tyler James Williams gave a great performance portraying that shock and grief. Nice to see Tyreese step up to support him. I was shocked and disappointed to see Tyreese actually get bit. Nice to see so many dead characters show up in this episode. Beth singing kind of made me sad though. The gore in this episode as per usual looked incredible especially the slow motion stuff towards the end. Crashing into the back of the truck with all the zombie parts falling out was crazy. I genuinely thought Tyreese was going to make it there for awhile. Pretty heartbreaking that he didn't survive.

It was a great send off . I loved the cameos and Beth driving him to the afterlife was creepy. That being said it was too soon to kill Tyrese. What the hell

I can only imagine things would be a little different if they didn't have the hiatus like they have now. Now since they have a mid season finale and mid season premiere, they have to end/start on high notes.

with the chopped limbs, maybe it was a thing where someone didn't want to be responsible for the killing blow on the infected dead, so they thought just cut off the limbs, they won't be a danger to anyone if they couldn't move. Then they planned to drive and release the torsos in the woods, but things went very very wrong, car accident, driver died...and here we are.

They're going to scare people off at this rate . Haha

What the **** was that?

I know part of the appeal of this show is the sudden character deaths but two episodes in a row of some of my favorites dying is really starting to piss me off especially since my interest is already waning.

I still loved seeing The Governor and Beth again but still. :csad:

It's one of things they won't dive into on the show. We just have to piece it together

And not too long after Bob's death either.

Tyreese was such a s**t character IMO. Good riddance.

Other than that it was a beautiful send off though. Great single episode story structure.

Question: is it awful that I cried at the burial while hearing Julie Andrews rendition of Oh Promise Me fading into my head?

Really sorry to see Tyrese go. I've seen a number of criticisms of the character but I actually really liked what they did with him. He was compassionate but dangerous when angered. He wanted to take non-violent path if at all possible.

Tyrese was a terrible character whose presence endangered the rest of the group. GOOD RIDDANCE.

An entire episode of Tyrese hallucinating just so we can get some pointless cameos from previous cast members? Eh...

Overall...felt like yet more time killing...and the problem is...more often than not the time killing ends up with a weak pay-off.

I spent a few seasons defending this show after every episode against all of the "haters" but man...I'm now find myself just watching the show out of habit.

On the bright side though...it was better than the 15 minutes I managed to get through of Better Call Saul. That was painful!
