The hallucinations were kinda meta in a way. Addressing many of the criticisms of the character.

I got a cousin named rashad, I dunno if you heard before

and I think martin was the only one making legit criticisms of the character. all the rest were there to taunt and haunt tyreese.

Tyrese was a terrible character whose presence endangered the rest of the group. GOOD RIDDANCE.

An entire episode of Tyrese hallucinating just so we can get some pointless cameos from previous cast members? Eh...

Overall...felt like yet more time killing...and the problem is...more often than not the time killing ends up with a weak pay-off.

I spent a few seasons defending this show after every episode against all of the "haters" but man...I'm now find myself just watching the show out of habit.

On the bright side though...it was better than the 15 minutes I managed to get through of Better Call Saul. That was painful!

Right on. This episode was painful to watch, and not because it was good.

Yeah, he's on Talking Dead of course.

It was a well made and the time anyone departing the show would hope to get. I'm just not happy it happened this soon and not near the group. It was like the opposite of Beth's death.

So did it seem like Andrew Lincoln was the guy on the radio using his natural British accent to anyone else?

Gotta give credit to Nicotero for his direction. Just some beautiful shots and this was a well done episode. It sucks that Tyreese of the show wasn't like the Tyreese of the comics, but it is what it is and this was good send off. I thought with his speech to Noah, it meant that he was going to fight to survive, but it still worked, IMO.

They did a good job teasing us. I really thought he was going to make it. Then when they struggled out the gate it sank in.

you don't survive after a bite unless you get amputated immediately. I knew from the moments he turned green he wasn't going to make it.

I was thinking that could be the blood loss and he should of went into shock the amount of time he was bleeding. It's a tv show though , so I thought they would bend the rules.

Good catch. This was just confirmed on Talking Dead.

Another pointless death. This show is falling into predictability again. Every moral compass of the group is always dies and this is the third time that's happened this season. If this had happened at the end of the season with more time allotted to develop Tyrese and the alluded backstory it would have resonated. Instead they crammed all of that into a single episode rendering his death narratively wasted. It's just like Beth, whose death was so recent that it further made this feel meaningless and poorly timed. They had a really good thing going for much of Season 4 and the beginning of Season 5 but the consecutive mistakes they're making are killing the momentum. Either Beth or Tyrese should have died, not both and not in the ways they did.

those two little girls were also visibly a little older than when their characters died.

Every time I think this show can't shock me, I'm proved wrong. I'm going to miss Chad Coleman, but his acting ability was front and center tonight. What a BRILLIANT episode and a perfect way for the big guy to go out.
