All im envisioning is that scene from Pan's Labyrinth where the general gets his cheek cut by the maid. That was brutal.

I could imagine joker sewing himself up too....oh God this is going to be SO METAL

I somewhat agree but how on earth is he going to do that?

Batman is stronger, quicker, more agile etc. than the Joker. Even with knives the Joker should not be able to go toe to toe with the dark knight. I mean physically the Joker is more like Scarecrow than Ra's. And using fear gas was the only way Scarecrow was able to hurt Batman.

So yeah, the Joker is able to put Batman in a tight spot by shooting at him with a friggin' bazooka and by threatening other people(Rachel, Gordon etc.). But other than that, how is he going to hurt him? I assume that the Joker wants to kill Batman eventually and I assume that there will be some kind of mano a mano showdown in the end. And that showdown can't be all about Batman beating up the Joker cuz that would be boring.

So there has to be something that gives the Joker the upperhand. I just wonder what it is...

Numbers. I heard that all of Gotham's mafias give their resources to Joker to put an end to Batman. I'm sure Joker will have some type of way of fighting, the guy is a maniac and Nolan and Ledger are going to make the Joker a guy, probably the only guy, that could really hurt Batman.

Guns, hostage situations, explosives, these things will really get to Batman, because you have to think, this is basically the beginning of Batman, he probably doesn't have training in these things yet. So the Joker is going to be giving one hell of a time.

But again, the Joker going toe-to-toe with Batman, I could see it, but yeah, Batman has that. But then again, the Joker is a dirty fighter. The Joker has knifes, thats basically close-quaters-combat, he's probably well trained with using them, it'd be a good fight I think.

I don't know. I just can't wait 'til TDK comes out. Thats when we'll experience the Joker in full glory.

The sound effect in the trailer makes it sound as though the knife does come out of his sleeves...but I cant really make that out since it is kinda dark.

Not gunna' happen. The Joker has never been able to hold his own againt Batman in hand-to-hand combat. Read "The Killing Joke"; Batman kicks the crap out of the Joker.

in his first appearance Joker beats the hell out of Batman and drops his ass off a bridge

Yes but it's already in his hand when the noise is made so I think they edited that sound in late for the trailer so we'd hear it in the less than a second clip...

Sorry if this is a real dumb question, I don't really have a lot of background on the comics, but if the Joker can't hold his own against Batman, how is he such a huge threat then. Shouldn't Batman just beat him down 1 on 1 and then he's done with?

you have to also consider that he fires a shotgun, a machine gun, and a sort of rocket/missile launcher in trailer. So obviously he is handy with weapons of all sort and will straight up shoot someone if he has to. lol

Maybe the Joker can never die, maybe he takes some meds to keep him alive like steroids or something...im imagining something like the green goblin from spiderman, a gas being inhaled throughout the body...

One is a shotgun (when he shoots in the air at the penthouse) and the other is the bazooka. You couldn't have missed that. It took half of the screen.

It kind of looks like a tommy gun. People in the mafia use those types of guns, so maybe Joker got his hands on one.
