The Dark Knight The weapon of choice - The Joker and his knives

That is not he scene I'm referring to. The one after he says "It's all part of the plan." and he's on the stree shooting, I think it's a machine gun!

Definitely a tommy gun or machine gun.

you noobs are stupid. you dont even know about the joker!
the reason he is such a big threat is because he does diffrent stuff i. e. has weapons, people, has hostages, is smart, and he is a dark character

It kind of looks like a tommy gun. People in the mafia use those types of guns, so maybe Joker got his hands on one.

Thanks!

I think it might be something like this...

It kind of looked like it had double-barrels. Or I was just seeing that, I don't know. Anyway, it was one hell of a gun.

I dont know about all the machine guns and stuff they definately have there place but i also want razor sharp playing cards exploding whoppee cusshoins and the classic poisened pin handshake joker going around shooting people will get old fast.

The Joker in Batman # 1 used knives, and actually was "killed" when he stabbed himself with his own knife in the fight by accident...

He did come back in issue # 2 thanks to the power of recton. In any case, does anyone forsee Joker going out the same way in this film?

I hope not. I hate when characters "die" and then come back to life. Like Jason Todd... *shakes head*

Yeah, I agree, the Joker should not be killed in this film, he's much too big of a character to just be killed in one film. I don't think he is going to be killed off either.

Is it me or does it look like in that quick shot of Joker shooting that bazooka, he's saying " MY ASS!". As in a response to batman saying somthing like " jokes on you" or somthin. I don't know maybe I'm just in a silly mood.

P.S. CaptainClown's Avvy made me think of this cuz I spaced out watching it for about 10 mins haha

razor sharp playing cards maybe, but exploding whoopy cushions, buzzed handshakes, squirting acid flower wont play any part in TDK man...I think to Nolan that`ll be too silly and cartoony which leads to being unrealistic

i thought he was saying "action!"

There's no sound unfortunately during that bit.

I just love the face.

Not a chance. That kind of bollocks has no place in this movie.
And The Joker doesn't just shoot people. He's a showman, read Soft Targets. You'll see what I mean. He has web-cameras all over Gotham and a countdown to his next killing. Not old, not boring. Brilliant. So there's really no point in the stupid gag weapons.

Um, you did see the first film and noticed the Microwave Emitter, Blue "Fear" Lotus, and Batmans costume, right? Nolan isn't about realistic as much as verisimilitude. Joker venom and lethal pranks would work in the same way.

Unfortunately, it looks like Nolan is going for more of a high profile Manson/Bin Laden level psychopath who cuts on his victims. Not the Joker I wanted, but i'm willing to see what he gives me despite the various disappointments.

Me and friend were talking about how badass it'd be, if Joker had razor-edged playing cards...and there was actually a scene were he sliced somebody up good with them, perhaps even lodging one in that person's side. But, I'm not sure--even those seem a little too comicky for Nolan's Joker.

the fact that he as alot of knives makes me think, and hope, that he is just a randon stabber. When you see them on the table there's different types, and none of them look like combat/throwing knives.

I think he's just a nasty ****er who'll just keep stabbing at you and just pull out another blade if he drops one.

is that what he says? I should watch the trailer again. I couldn't remeber any sound comin out of him when i saw that the first time. :hoboj:
No, it's "My ass". We put the wall paper of that scene on one of the school's computers and we're watching it over and over again. It's not "action" but it DOES look like "my ass".

Not quite. He dies in the original version of Batman #1, but the last few panels were redone to show him alive, and in jail at the end.
EDIT: The power of recton. Sounds painful.

When the Joker says, "Let's put a smile on that face!"

I think this Joker does that by using knives to carve a big ole grin on his victims. He wants them to be happy, and to share the joy that he does. If they survive, they'll simply be stranger. :hoboj:

This thread got kind of long so I don't know if I'm just repeating something, but I don't think he's skilled with knives in the sense that he's like Steven Seagal or a knife thrower. Looking at the scene when they're putting the knives on the table, the one being set down looks like some kind of kitchen knife and next to that are 2 box cutters. I don't think he's like a knife expert, he just likes to stab and cut people.

Oh yeah. :hoboj: I like his collection of knives..hopefully he uses certain knives in a certain situations.

My guess instead of smilex Nolan will have him "make smiles" manually on his victims with his weapon of choice.
