The Dark Knight The weapon of choice - The Joker and his knives

a knife to cut a smile, one to stap , and on eto scare with! lol

I seem to differ from you lot, not only do I think the Joker isn't going to be a "master of knifeplay", but I'll be surprised and definitely a little dissapointed if he does little more than flail them around in his hands.

The whole depiction of the character we seem to be getting from Nolan & Co. is not one of complete sanity, not someone dedicated to any kind of martial art or showman swordplay. Granted, he's into the "theatrics", but that's in his heists etc, not what he can do with a knife. In the trailer he's not juggling knives, he throws it from left to right, which isn't much of a juggle.

The fact that he has kitchen knives and box-cutters suggests to me that he just picks up whatever he comes across, with a sigh, a sly look around, and a "this'll make someone VERY happy".

Joker with knives kinda like V for Vendetta. I'd like to see some cool Batman vs Joker slo-mo fight scenes.

It's gotta be a Dalton Cupid...Seriously. I know knives.
The Bladeplay knife is an acceptable affordable version for us clowns on a budget!!!

I'd like to see a scene where Joker tries to stab Batman and the knife breaks, as Batman's suit as told in BB is supposed to be able to "Stop a knife"

The argument that the Joker is a 'dirty fighter' ( as if Batman is a 'clean' fighter)is really of no consequence.

The way Batman fights is as dirty as it gets. While the Joker is certainly no match strength wise, he makes up for it in his speed, reflexes and sheer unpredictabilty( in a way that none of batman's other foes have). That's what he's got going for him.

I agree. And maybe it's tied to unpredictibility, but I think the Joker would have no problem with taking a beating from Batman if it meant he could get close enough stab him repeatedly, like he does (awesomely) in The Dark Knight Returns.

Bah! RPG does not mean Rocket Propelled Grenade!

Anyway, he is using a sten gun in that scene I think on the street, but I know for certain it isn't a tompson.

They missed a great opportunity by not mixing a pizza cutter in with the other knives.

The Joker being a knife-wielding freak is not good for the story. He is just a crazed killer, not someone who wants to get up close and personal. He knows he is weak, so he chooses to fight dirty. The knives are probably just for show and surprise.

I don't feel like this Joker is "weak" ... It seems like he is actually a decent match for the Bat.

A knife is a melee weapon, you gotta have some big stones top get that close and fight. I think Joker has those stones my friend.

Wait, what? To use a knife you actually do have to get up close and personal. A knife is a true killer's weapon, thats basically a killer's bread and butter. The Joker is not weak, he's nasty and sadistic. And trust me, by the looks of the trailer, his knife's don't look very surprising, he's actually using them without pulling them from his sleeves. And yeah, he does do a knife trick, I don't think its for show, it just shows that he's very skilled with them.

The Joker, in this film and the next, will more than give our Dark Knight problems. He's more than a match for Batman. He's smart and knows how to put plans together. He'll outsmart Batman more than once in these films.

What villain doesn't fight dirty? Of coarse the Joker fights dirty. He's the Joker! And thats how I like him.

IMO the joker is a match not b/c of fighting dirty or knives but b/c he's a brilliant tactician. Judging from the prologue he's the kind of person who sets everything up beforehand and sees the forest for the trees. He's like a chess player moving pieces on the board - getting to the mob, ruining Batman's public image and turning the city against him, etc. Its all part of the plan.

Just my 2 cents.

That's the way I see it as well. He's crazy, but that doesn't mean he's stupid. He's suprisingly calculating. Physically, he may not be weak per se, but he's no match for this Batman, who took out four ninjas at once. But mentally, he may be right at his level. I like this. Very...Michael Corleone-ish... :brucebat:

god, no. that movie's horrid. i for one don't think we'll be getting any slow mo fight scenes in TDK. nolan's too...talented for that.

I Agree, im confident batman/joker fight scenes will be bad ass in the movie.

Slow mo action scenes are absolutely awful, everything always looks better like it's happening.

Joker does and always should use more than knives otherwise he's no more a threat than Mr. Zsasz.
