CD Projeckt Red The Witcher 3

Is there a way to reject Triss Merigold but still get her to join your crew?

Damn, latest patch has borked my game, can no longer cast signs.

edit: sorted it myself now, was being dumb.

I have an axe showing up damaged but not showing up as repairable. Don't know if the stats are weakend or not.

So, I am really starting to get into this game.

Probably the best next gen game so far. Or current gen now, I guess.

I do have a few quibbles. The frame rate drops are infrequent, but certainly noticeable. The bigger issue though is the small text... I realize that I am near sighted, but even my friends who are farsighted had to squint to make them out. I have a 46 inch HDTV. I can only imagine what it must be like on a 20-something inch monitor.

This game at night though (the clouds, and the moonlight), is probably the most visually stunning thing I have seen in the last ten years of gaming.

What system you playing on? I thought patches had been released for those issues at least on PC and PS4?

Ah I guess they havn't addressed those things yet then. Seems to be more bugs creeping in so I guess they are busy fire fighting all the issues that new patches have brought. I've seen a few people say they are unable to climb any more which stops you completing some quests.

Is a shame as apart from these bugs its been a stunning game as you said.

Do you not have it?

Or is there some version that has bigger text?

I am on xbox one and we have only just updated to 1.03. The text thing I think is still an issue but its not something I had an issue with myself but not sure if its because of my tv or how close I sit or the fact I have eyes like a hawk, lol (deaf as a post mind :woot:)

I think its still an issue they are working on looking at the their website and will be in a future patch.

It's been confirmed that Patch 1.04 that is coming out next is going to fix the tiny text problem and a problem with not enough and no XP being awarded on some missions.

Is patch 1.04 going to address the wet character bug whenever you pause the game? It's annoying now. I'm gonna wait a bit now until after the next patch or two, when the game will hopefully run better.

I just ran into missions where i'm not getting XP because they're too beneath my current level. Hope I get XP retroactively applied after the patch.

Easily the best game of this generation of consoles so far, and probably this year's GOTY. The main plot isn't stellar, but the characters were, and that's what made me love this so much, even more than the previous one.

I do wish we could tie spells to the touchpad on the PS4. That would be cool.

I haven't noticed that.

Has finally convinced me that investing in these new generation consoles is actually worth it. Was beggining to wonder after all the delays and endless remakes of previous gen whether there was a point to it all but this has raised the bar for me and even surpassed the great Mass Effect 2. Anything that beats it this year will have to be exceptionally special to claim GOTY for me, we shall see, but the bar to clear is an all time high.

Iv been saying since day one this game would be the reason to own a next gen(current gen what the hell ever) console. Now that the game is here and we are all finally playing it, iv been proven right, for the billionth time.

Whats crazy is, there are still some epic games on the horizon, we are still early into this console gen and already we have a generation defining title. Just awesome.

Apparently there will be a small text patch coming next month.

I still for the life of me don't get that complaint. I mean if this text is too small, jesus h christ, whats large? I just don't have any issue with the text. Maybe my eyes are just better than most? Which, tbh, I wouldn't doubt.

Yep it proves what can be done when time and effort are put into these new consoles. Also the sheer amount of content is mind boggling, heck this game has a mini-game better than most arcade titles that charge you £15 for the admission alone.

There are no excuses any more and I will be judging everything to this from now on, but yeah no doubt there are, finally, some great titles on the way now. This feels like the starting point for this gen of console. A lot of other developers need to sit up and take notes.

The text size is poorly optimized for consoles. It's an oversight.

I have to sit maybe six feet away from my big screen TV to read it without squinting.

Some people are using the PS4 zoom feature.

there definitely is a text size problem.

the biggest issue for me is that "step meter" that shows how close/far you are to the objective. that's probably the text that's hardest to read for me.

oh, and yeah, this game is gorgeous!!

It makes me really salivate over how a new gen Fallout or Elder Scrolls game would look.

and as someone new to the Witcher games, I must admit, I do think I'd enjoy it a bit more if you weren't tied to a set protagonist and if you could create your own character, choose your own class, etc.

I actually prefer a real character. I like Geralt.

Though I am sure some of the nuances of the story / writing are lost in translation. Still, so far it's pretty engaging.

It's causing eye strain. I can read the text, but I'm having to strain my eyes to do so and it's just a strain on the eyes. Some people just can't even read the text at all. Point is there is plenty of blank space in the menus so the text doesn't need to be as small as it is.

They might as well make the menus more accessible to people that don't have 20/20 vision or are dealing with various other eye disorders. Games these days have various subtitles and various audio tracts. Scaleable text needs to be available in all games too.
