CD Projeckt Red The Witcher 3

Would that work though? With these games, they sort of had more free reign because they weren't directly adapting the novels. Instead they opted to continue the story where the last chronological one ended.

If they adapted the previous stories, they'd be beholden to what happened there and there'd be less leeway in how to experience them.

You could explore Ciri's adventures in the other realms maybe? Everything up to her returning to the world of Witcher 3.

However, now it becomes a problem where they might let financial sense override artistic creativity.
It's a risk yeah. Although if anyone can overcome that risk it's these guys.

It's too bad Geralt is sterile Witcher 4 could have been One of his childrens as MC

Even if Geralt could have a kid, he'd only be a Witcher in the sense of having some basic training and being related to one. Part of becoming a full fledged Witcher is the Trial of Grasses, which has a low chance of survival anyway. Based on Geralt's dialogue and personality, he would never allow an offspring to go through such a thing anyway. In the game, his attitude toward the Witchers going extinct is resigned and almost like it's for the best. Witchers might be monster hunters and do the jobs no one else wants, but the way they become Witchers is quite cruel and disgusting.

The next Witcher game could always be another character unrelated to Geralt, right?

They could always go the Mass Effect 4 route I guess. Because if they did bring Geralt back, they'd have to ruin his potential happy endings.

There are other Witchers out there. Their numbers are few, but there are probably still some other Witchers and scattered schools of dwindling numbers.

But I mean in one ending, Ciri herself becomes a Witcher and goes off on her own...so I mean...you could do that. But then fans might get upset over that being the canonical ending.

well the head of CD project red in that same interview I put up from PCN said Ciri and it would be interesting to hop dimension's cause it'll make the scope or exploration better then just land masses. but it look like they had plan prior to have it like mass effect to a degree too according to this other interview below.

Ok , So I'm not sure how accurate this will be . But I'm just putting this up. this was supposed to be last in the series. so we'll see what happens . but I wouldn't be against it ether.

The Witcher 3 could be getting a sequel because not doing one "wouldn't be fair towards the fans"

It's probably at least a decade off, but it seems like CD Projekt Red aren't done with The Witcher yet. It's no wonder, after the studio nailed...

"It's too early to talk about it, but it's not like we're forgetting about this brand - that's understandable. It wouldn't be fair towards the fans," said Kicinski. "We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don't think it's going to be the end of it."
CD Projekt Red have previously said that The Witcher 3 would be the end of Geralt's adventures, which seems to point towards Ciri being a lead in the series moving forward. The Witcher 3 certainly sets the character up for a leading role, even letting players take control of her for certain key points.
I could get behind playing an entire game as Ciri - she's an interesting character and her unique abilities could lead to some brilliant scenarios. The game wouldn't even have to be restricted to the world of The Witcher. Imagine an RPG on the scale of The Witcher 3, but instead of multiple landmasses, there are multiple dimensions and you can hop between them at will.

Yes, please.

As I said, though, this wouldn't be for ages yet, with CD Projekt Red currently focused on finishing up their next RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 3 : Witcher 4 - 'It Wouldn't Be Fair' Not to Make It

Posted Dec 07, 2015

CD Projekt Red's Marcin Iwinski said that "it wouldn't be fair towards the fans" not to make a fourth game in the Witcher series.
"We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don't think it's going to be the end of it." Iwinski was speaking on Polish TV with the translation provided by Gamepressure.
Speaking about when The Witcher 4 might happen, Iwinski also said:
"It deserves some rest," Iwinski said about The Witcher series in August. "The world of The Witcher is gigantic and it's great to tell these stories, but I don't know when [a sequel] will happen."

What do you think of Witcher 4? Who would be the protagonist since Geralt is now retired from the series?

They can just go with a new character. New stories. I'd prefer they used Ciri but if that's not possible then a new female witcher would be fine.

I would like Ciri as a main character in the next game.

Geralt or Ciri. Anyone else wouldn't work for me.

Geralt or bust. Which is why this needs to be the end. I'd love to come back to this world, but not with anyone else and depending on which ending one got in this game, Geralt retired in peace. Not sure I'd want to see that ruined. Unless of course CDPR decides thats not the ending and goes with something else altogether.

Not sure if these were posted on another page, but heres 2 images of Toussaint, the location of Blood and Wine. Toussaint is described as "where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."

I like Toussaint. It looks different an idyllic. But it's a false utopia.

Honestly though, I kind of want to see Ofier.

There's no such thing as a 'new female Witcher'. Witchers were male. Ciri was the only exception.

as project pat post here's the article that goes along with those images.

CD Projekt RED has released the first two screenshots from the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion ‘Blood and Wine,’ due out during the first half of 2016.

“Blood and Wine, the second expansion for The Witcher 3, is on the horizon,” said CD Projekt RED game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. “It’s a massive new land to explore, visually unlike anything you saw in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone, and it too is brimming with stories we want you to discover,” adds Tomaszkiewicz.

The upcoming expansion is a “20-hour tale” that will introduce the all-new region of Toussaint, and will take Geralt to “a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.”

Not sure . It may be and it may not be. please wait for more info, we'll likely find out .

If rumors are true about Fringilla, then it's definitely post.

:sly: Come on man or woman I'm not sure:huh: you can not say there is a rumor, and not say what the rumor :whatever:
There's a rumor that Fringilla will be a romance option in Blood and Wine DLC. Since she's locked in a cell during events of Witcher 3 and gets released near the end to help Geralt and co to defeat Wild Hunt.

There's no such thing as a 'new female Witcher'. Witchers were male. Ciri was the only exception.
She's not a true Witcher in the sense that she didn't undergo the Trial of Grasses. But she is technically more powerful than any Witcher due to the Elder Blood.

Is this game any good?

It's only won so many awards and has such high praise because it sucks ass, like 'The Room'

My only gripe is how clunky the gathering of items and riding the horse can be at times. Otherwise it's one of the best RPGS ever made.

So Gamestop had an exclusive pack for the Hearts of Stone DLC. For $14.99 I got the DLC and two real life Gwent decks in a collectible box. Pretty damn happy about that.
