The "World's Finest" DC RPG Sign Up/OOC Thread

Having read your PM, I'd say just do as you feel, trusty. It's really not that big of a thing. What you've got planned can easily exist alongside the current Suicide Squad. It's the softest of retcons.

That's not saying that I care for the new Suicide Squad, but why really change it unless necessary? Just ignore it as long as you don't need it. Just leave the Squad be until someone actually applies for somebody like Waller or somesuch.

I figured...because the only thing contradicting the existence of the team was Deadshot saying 1 line of dialogue that Glass wrote. And while I do not like Glass' new title, yea, for a newcomer come months from now or so it would be best to leave it cannon.

What's your opinion on the TT front? TT is the biggest mess of this DC relaunch and one of my few issues with it. It makes zero sense and the current new title sucks balls. Because at one point we are told it's a 100% new team, then we are told that the previous TT crap kinda happened...then we have stuff like Red Hood and the Outlaws where Kory doesn't remember those people but Roy does so that means IT IS in cannon...then in some recent interviews or maybe the recent issue (I only read the ****** #1) that this may be the first TT team.

Titans up to Johns' restart of the title are in canon (for the record, it's one n), they're not just called Titans anymore.

Maybe Dick, Roy and Kory were part of the first incarnation of the TT, but that team wasn't really a success so they split up.

Eh, I don't know. I'm staying the hell away from that mess of a title.

Just say there used to be a team called the Teen Titans and now there's a new team called Teen Titans. **** what DC is saying to save their asses from the continuity fanboys.

End of story.

If DC can't keep their **** straight, then by God we will.

In the latest issue of Teen Titans (don't judge me! I wanna give it at least an arc :() Tim says "This may be the shortest lived incarnation of the Teen Titans" so there have been other teams...

There you go. Even the goddamn writer of the ****ing book can't keep his **** straight.

Seriously, people. Stop worrying so much about what DC is doing.

Since we decided a long time ago to use the DCnU as a jumping off point without waiting a few issues to let them establish or explain anything, there's no point in hemming and hawing over every little decision.

Use the books as a guide, but if you don't like something, or do something now that the books later contradict...then **** the books.

Worst case, it makes it a little harder for newbies to join up since we have to explain the differences. But since that was going to happen anyway...

This.

Just shut the **** up, do your thang and by God...POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!

And be ready, IC thread goes up in an hour!

Or in 24 hours....or right now! Or tomorrow evening! :ninja:

Well this answers my question. Thanks. It is all in cannon.

The "World's Finest" DC RPG Application

Character you would like to play (please include the color and font you plan on using to portray the character): The Joker

Brief Origin (provide at least two sentences)If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism, it will not be allowed: : Very little is actually known about the Joker’s history prior to his first encounter with Batman as the Red Hood. As the Red Hood he was cornered by Batman and he either jumped, fell (or was possibly even pushed by Batman) into a vat of chemicals. Once he escaped the vat of chemicals he was left not only physically scared with white skin, green hair, red lips and a permanent smile but mentally unhinged. He is a psychopath with a genius IQ in chemistry and computers, a highly developed sense of narcissism, and a very unpredictable physical combatant. He has created many weapons of death based upon comedy. Some of these include lethal joy buzzers, acid flowers, razor playing cards and his lethal laughing gas called Joker Venom just to name a few.

The Joker seeks two things in life 1) Inflicting pain, death and suffering on humanity regardless of who they are and 2) seeing Batman and members of the Batman Family suffer.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): As a general rule The Joker works alone mainly because of his unpredictable nature.

Explain what you plan to do with the character you've chosen and why you've chosen this character: It’s a villain and that is what I generally enjoy playing, but in this case I am dealing with a villain who has no underlying moral compass, or set code by which he operates. He truly is a living breathing wild card in that you never know what you’re going to get.

Do you have an Instant Messenger? Which one, and what is your screen name?

If you know how to post pictures, please provide a picture of your character you wish to be used for the Character Roster (if you do not know how, or do not have a preference, please say so and a default picture shall be picked for you):

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least one line of dialogue):

Inside the Gotham City Opera House renowned Tenor Luciano Formateg has just finished performing Rigoletto. He takes his bow and acknowledges the crowd and then the Orchestra. Luciano then exits the stage to cries of “encore, encore.”

Luciano takes a bottle of water from the stage manager and says, “Thank you I think I have enough left for one encore.”

The Stage Manager with his head bowed and cap pulled low says, “Well you know what they say give the people what they want, and they want a night they'll remember for years to come.”

Luciano nods and smiles as he heads back to the stage. The Stage Manager lifts up his head revealing himself to be the Joker!

The Joker pulls out a razor sharp playing card and flicks it across to the stage and with deadly accuracy embeds it into the back of Luciano’s skull.

Luciano begins to stumble about and finally falls over dead. The crowd is horrified and begins to scream.

The Joker says, “Hmmm some people just don’t know how to have fun and enjoy the Opera. What a bunch of killjoys! I try to give them a night they’ll remember for years to come and this is the thanks I get? Ingrates!”

He says into a radio, “All-right let’s give the people something to smile about.”

A voice on the other end says, “Got it.”

Just then the doors lock into place and the Opera House fills up with the Joker’s Venom gas. Quickly people begin to fall over laughing and soon dying.

The Joker steps out from the wings and admires his work. He looks out at the dead crowd and says, “And that is just the opening act wait until you see the finale!”

The Joker’s three other henchmen wearing gas masks approach him on stage and one of them has a gym bag full of money.

He says, “I managed to crack the safe and clean out the Box-Office too boss!”

The Joker looks disapprovingly at him and says, “You idiot this is not a robbery! This is about giving the people what they want! A night they’ll never forget! If this was a robbery we would've hit a bank you idiot! Where does money come into this? Why are we robbing them? WHY?”

The Joker flicks his wrist twice and a small pistol pops out. The joker then shoots the henchman in the head.

He looks at the other two and says, “Do you two MENSA rejects have any ideas of your own?”

The both shake their head furiously and the Joker says, "Good!” He begins laughing almost hysterically and then feigns wiping a tear away.

The Joker looks at his watch and says, “Well time to blow this joint! Shall we?”

The Joker and his two henchmen leave the opera house. They get about two blocks away and the Opera House explodes in a mass of flames and smoke that can be seen from miles away.

The Joker says to one of his henchmen, “Remind me when we get the paper tomorrow to take the picture from the front page and from online and then frame it. This was a good one! Truly a night to remember for years to come!”

A little *****ey maybe, but: revealing the stage manager as the Joker with an exclamation mark doesn't really work when you've got the stage manager's dialogue in the Joker's font.

Point taken and edited...in the actual RPG I wouldn't do that...this was case of I was tired of looking at the app...this thing had gone through 5 revisions (including the actual character!)

I'm so happy to have such a great poster playing my arch nemesis. I still fondly remember our epic battle way back in the early days of the Marvel RPG, MST3K 4ever. I'm looking forward to recreating that magic with Batman/Joker!

Does anybody know where's the original World of Heroes Season 1 RPG?
I can't find it anywhere and i would like to check it out

It's in the Archives. Don't judge it too harshly, it didn't really get good until Season 2

Lol, more than one could play the same character?

There was absolutely no organization back then. No apps, no nothing.
