I suppose that makes since but still you'd think that people would watch these matches as opposed to some of the throwaway segments that GAINED viewers like the Tug Of War thing.

The tug of war segment was between two guys in an actual angle though, I think prople stick with the segments that are part of an actual storyline.

It's all up to the Rock and his people. He's shooting Hercules as soon as he's 100% plus he has Fast and Furious 7, GI Joe 3 and probably one or two other films he has yet to shoot. There is no guarantee he will be at Wrestlemania 30 and even if he will be, there's a chance he won't have a match, especially if he has a film that shoots from the Royal Rumble until a few weeks prior to Wrestlemania 30.

Right now it's too early to tell if he's going to be at Wrestlemania 30, so I wouldn't boycott WM 30 just yet. If his people tell him "Don't compete at Wrestlemania 30 anymore, just go there to accept the Hall of Fame induction" then that's what he would do. They were likely in a panic mode when he got hurt. Plus The Rock is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and I am sure that they have something to say about his appearance at WM 30. If the higher ups at SAG say that he can only show up at WM 30 in a non-wrestling capacity, chances are he'll show up in New Orleans in a Non-wrestling capacity.

This would cause Vince McMahon to go in a rage, but that's nothing new. However, Vince does not control the Rock anymore. Only his WWE name "The Rock" he controls. I would assume that Dwayne has 100% control over his likeness, which means that the WWE can't do anything with his image without his consent.

Of course, if he's unable to get the Rock to have a match and he's only allowed to make a non-wrestling appearance at WM 30, Plan B for WWE is probably (if he's healthy enough and willing to appear and compete):

As of right now, I give the odds of him showing up at Wrestlemania 30 at 40%.

I really don't care if he wrestles, I just don't want to see Lesnar wasted in a match with him. Book Rock vs Triple H for old times sake since it's obvious that he's not gonna put anyone but Cena over.

:D

I agree to a point. WWE stopped making matches meaningful in terms of storyline development a long time ago, especially for the undercard. That being said, the in-ring action is still the center of the product. Turning the channel during a good match is like watching a super hero movie but avoiding all the battles scenes.

The difference being that the battles in the superhero moveis are attached to the storyline. If the matches are part of an ongoing storyline they are much less likely to lose viewers, but anyone seeing Dolph and Kofi about to wrestle or Cesaro facing Del Rio know instantly where it's going and how neither Kofi or Cesaro matter as that is what the booking tells them, so they switch over until something that actually matters within the storylines is on.

I still wouldn't rule him out as Taker's last WM opponent.

Mick has been told by a Doctor that he can't wrestle again.

Impressed with the Ryback and Bryan match, has a PPV type feel to it. Although Bryan lost, I don't think it has harmed him at all, he looked strong. I don't know if it's me though, but the crowd feels to have a bit more atmosphere, considering it's a taped show.

All the crowd noise on SD is piped in, in post production.

I meant to mention it last week but forgot, if you get the chance check out Sheamus vs Show from last weeks SD, fantastic match!

This week's Impact didn't have a hook other than the returns of Sting and Chris Sabin.

I see a disconnection between TNA and its audience.

Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Bad Influence have a tag team match next week and for no reason, they interjected Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez unnecessarily and as a distraction.

I don't know why TNA is putting so much in Rob Terry, whom no one cares about. However, if anything got him over it was that double back suplex.

The Knockouts match was good and the feud between Taryn Terrell and Gail Kim goes on with Gail getting her heel heat in spite of losing a lot lately.

Chris Sabin did well in his return, but the ref cam is an unnecessary distraction and adds nothing to the X-Division. Its poor quality makes TNA look second-rate.

I can't see Matt Morgan as a threat if he's going to look ridiculous in Hulk Hogan's old wardrobe, wearing gold trunks, and sporting that ridiculous beard. I'm glad Sting won as it makes sense for him to face Bully Ray from a storyline standpoint.

.

He was told the same thing in 2000 after he had something like 3 concussions in a year. That was..what...3 comebacks ago? I'm not saying it's a smart move, but I won't believe Foley is completely done unless many years pass without a single match.

It was something different this time around, it wasn't just a case of there could be a 50/50 risk, it was more like an Edge situation where it wouldn't just be a risk, it would be near certain to cause serious damage to his health which physically isn't great to begin with.

Yeah, if you're not medically cleared by doctors, WWE won't let you compete for liability reasons. That's why Edge had to call it quits when he didn't want to. Same for Foley. If his head had been okay, Foley was going to work a match with Miz, put over Ambrose in a match at SummerSlam, and lose his final match to CM Punk at the TLC PPV.

Mick Foley said prior to his Last Man Standing match with Ric Flair in TNA that it might be his last one. Funny enough, he called it.

I was disappointed that Ambrose confronting Foley never had a follow through, but I'd be confident that they'll at least share a promo at some stage in the future.

So I watched the Ryback-Bryan match from Smackdown after hearing such good things about. I was underwhelmed. The match solid, but it was 90% Daniel Bryan. The most impressive thing Ryback did was the tumble spot through the ropes. He's improving on the mic, but he has a long, long way to go as a worker.

Also, JBL is a horrid announcer. After all these years, he still can't pronounce simple words like "Michael" and "W-W-E". Every time he said "Maggle Goal" and "Debbie-Debbie-E", I wondered if Vince has money to get Bradshaw some speech lessons?

I finally got around to watching The Man with the Iron Firsts. I was never a Dirty Dave fan as a wrestler, but his legendary facial expressions translated well to the big screen. He should do justice to Drax. I'm guessing being bound by a group of prostitutes in a brothel was a fun scene for Dirty Dave, too.

Ryback/Bryan was good. I do agree it was mostly Bryan leading the match, but Ryback did step it up, doing a good job selling the leg and Bryan's offense. Cesaro/Ryback is Ryback's best, but this is definitely 2nd best.

What kind of move would you guys say Ambrose hit Kane with to win? A Bulldog DDT?

WWE will begin a tournament at the May 23rd NXT tapings to crown the first-ever WWE NXT Women's Champion. Here is a photo of the belt that was on display during WrestleMania 29 Axxess:

Nell, back from the grave I see.

I've been spending the last couple weeks finishing up my last semester of college so I can graduate. Things have been pretty hectic and I haven't much been involved in the world of wrasslin' for awhile.

If you can't pronounce "Michael" correctly, then you might be a redneck.

Congrats. I can relate to that, been having to DVR shows and catch up on them whenever I have free time.

Thanks!

I typically watch 'em on DVR anyways, because I'm usually either working or working on a show on Monday nights, and watch it when I get home, but with graduation coming up, I get home so late sometimes that I just pass out, or I fall asleep as I'm watching it and totally miss everything. I barely know that Ryback and Cena are feuding right now, and I still don't know the kayfabe reason why Punk is gone. I just missed one Raw and Punk is nowhere to be seen.
