Since I've finally had the free time to play WWE' 12 I've been working on my Universe mode. HBK won the WWE Championship at the Rumble and got rid of the spinner belt for the Attitude era Championship and Punk won the Rumble. Just got to Mania and looking forward to my Main Event of Punk Vs. Michaels for the WWE Championship.

Michaels vs. Punk would have been a glorious fued. That's the one fued I wish he would have had before retiring.

The Kane/Cena storyline is gonna lead to nothing,they will go on for weeks and weeks teasing a heel turn for Cena,but all that it will lead to is Cena ''Rising above Hate'' (or whatever his T shirt says) and beating Kane at Royal Rumble (assuming there is a match of course)

I was hoping Kane would get a victory off Cena in their first encounter but since there is weeks of build-up, probably not. Storyline will probably run it's course by then.

See that's what I absolutely HATED about the SmackDown/SmackDown vs Raw series. They were far to arcadey. Throw a guy off a hell in the cell and he smashes through a table only to bounce back up as if nothing happened.

The old school Aki engine in the WCW vs nWO/No Mercy/New Japan 64 games were glorious. They were very "grappler" based as well and they didn't suck at all. In fact most of those games, to this day, are still considered the top wrestling games out there.

I have yet to play WWE '12 but I've heard nothing but good things about them from old school wrestling game fans. So...

I remember the old RAW is WAR game for the original Playstation... When you'd play as the Rock you'd hear one fan annoyingly scream "ROCKY DOESN'T SUCK" ect.

One great thing about WWE 12, is that you can create your own custom entrance for a CAW without using Highlight Reel. It's filled with music options and own Titantron videos to fit the certain gimmicks that they have in the game (such as American Patriot, Ladies Man, Evil Diva, Sexy Diva, Movie Star, MMA Fighter etc).

Also, the announcer can announce your name. Example: if you create a Wrestler named Scott Taylor the announcer (Justin Roberts or Tony Chimel) will announce your CAW as Scott Taylor. It's not like SVR 2011, where he would go by "The Superstar" or "The Champ." There are also more places to choose from for your Caw's hometown.

You can create UFC Fighter Anderson Silva in the game and he would be pronounced as Anderson Silva and be hailed from Brazil. You could also make Georges St. Pierre and he would be pronounced as GSP.

I owned and enjoyed all the Smackdown games but without a doubt No Mercy was and still is my all time favorite. I'm very much enjoying WWE'12 though as the new engine does remind me of the wear an tear your guy use to take.

Those would be my only complaints of the game other then the rough start I had with the new controls.

If they made that type of game now you know they'd have the same chant but for Cena.

I don't think they have the name Benjamin on the options. I think Fury is on there though. It depends on the name you choose. Some names like Robert they do not have (although they do have Bob)

btw.....how do you unlock Stone Cold in WWE 12? has anyone been able to figure that out?

and speaking of wrestling games, I just picked up a new copy of WWE All Stars for $18!!

WWE 12 has been.........ok for me. I think it's a step in the right direction. But, I'm more annoyed by the fact that they removed ALL of the Shining Wizard moves ( except the Ground move one Hurricane Helms used to use )!!!

Also, there's an annoying bug ( at least on the PS3 version ), where even if you choose Kansas City, KS as your hometown, the announcer will announce it as Kansas City, MO!!

the announecable entrance names are cool, but they really need to add more names in the future.

Also, I don't like that the story mode this year is so limiting and that they force you to play as other characters ( even as some other CAW named Cass or whatever ).

I think my enjoyment of the Smackdown series really peaked with Here Comes the Pain. but, so far, no game has come close to providing the sheer enjoyment I had playing the AKI Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy games on the N64.

oh well.....I guess there's always WWE 13........lol

They have the current roster with all enterance themes/titantron videos. It's badass.
