The wwe audience is extremely fickle.I think he's commented on that before but to build promos around it is a smart move. Jericho is a multi dimensional heel and that's sets him miles above the rest

See, Jericho did something that's really beyond most of the current roster. It further illustrates how weak the characters are these days.

I mean, at one time - ONE TIME - we had Kurt Angle, The Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Jericho, HHH, HBK, at the top of their game, all in the same company at the same time.

Now what do we have?

The two top guys for a long time have been Orton and Cena, neither of whom could really hold a candle to the guys I just mentioned.

This is the thing about Cena. This is why Cena doesn't work, and has been boo'd by half the audience for YEARS. Cena just doesn't have it, he doesn't have the same ability to actually connect with the audience. Everything about him is forced. Wear the right clothes, pander to the audience, be the superman hero, and expect adulation.

People like HBK are masters of ring psychology. Austin also understands how to connect with an audience.

Cena doesn't get it. He's never had what they have. He never will. He can never have an audience in the palm of his hand the way Jericho did on Monday.

RVD can retire for all I care. Keep your half assed work off my TV.

Didn't the videos say something about the world ending? The play off of all the 2012 end of the world sillyness wasn't lost on me. The act seemed so fake, the smile so plastered on...like a mockery of his Y2J persona as well. And we think about how fans lap up these kind of returns...like the Rocks.

He may as well have held up a sign that said "cheer me you stupid monkeys." Depending on how this plays out it could really be amazing.

I agree. At first I thought, "Oh come on, don't be a babyface" but when he kept leaping out of the ring for high fives I just smiled and nodded my head. Jericho is the master of charisma and held that crowd in the palm of his hand. Some of the stuff in those videos still don't make much sense but I think it may just be a play off of his entrance into WWE when he was brought to "Save the WWE".

Watching those old videos from Smackdown with him and The Rock totally brought back how great WWE used to be with their promos and had really top notch talent to speak on the mic. These days it just really seems like they are forcing things too much and not letting some of their guys go out there and make something out of themselves.

He's getting older and I assume that'll make him just way botchier than usual, but I wouldn't mind seeing him back. There isn't much room for him in the limelight though, so hopefully he'll bring a strong work ethic. He could be a good tag wrestler if the WWE ever wants to get serious about legitimizing the division... give him a strong technical wrestler as a partner to wrestle the majority of the match and have him come in and hit the big spots to send the crowd home happy.

Now that I think about it, my guess is the "girl" is supposed to represent the WWE Championship / World Heavyweight Title.

Like his style or not, he is still a draw. Not having him back would be a dumb move. Besides, if they can put aside personal feelings and give RVD a serious push this time, it might encourage him to work hard again.

I want him back too, but 41-year-old midcarders (in the WWE at least) don't get serious pushes if you mean world titles. Would a push towards a midcard belt be enough to keep him motivated? He's not going to be getting the WWE belt again, I think we can say that for sure.

You never know. I think he can get one more title run provided he stays out of trouble this time.

RVD's offense is based around speed and agility, which he is losing rapidly. Jerry Lynn is in way better shape.

Rvd could help fill the face gap if mysterio is retiring.

If you want RVD to fail a drug test, just ask him what time it is.

cue the response to that question of every pothead in the history of time

"What? Sorry, what? You mean, like, right now? Do you need the exact, like, time? Hold on ..."

looks at watch

"What comes after the 12? No man, I said after the 12."

A pothead would answer 4:20.

Oh yeah he sure does seem like a face character who was booed unintentionally lol.

Here's a backstage vid of Jericho after his return:

he's definitely toying with us........

I like the part where he stops and lights up his jacket.........lol

wasn't one of the messages of his videos that he doesn't need "her" ( the girl in the video ) anymore?

If that's the case, I think the girl could represent the WWE universe, and that Jericho is giving us the proverbial finger. He doesn't care what the audience does. He doesn't need to pander to the crowd. He's going to go out there and act/do whatever the hell he wants.
