Days of Future Past The X-men UNIFORM evolution on the sequel

Alex Ross did a "grounded in reality" redesign pitch that didn't get picked up (but later used in one of the Earth X sequels) and I always thought they looked really inspired in their simplicity. Although some of these characters aren't going to be in the movie or it's future timeline scenes, I like the idea for a dystopian future. The dark costumes and hoods/capes fit in perfectly with the idea of rebellion and lurking in the shadows.

I LOVE Angel's costume and how he's meant to disappear when in the sky. And Jean's skirt overlapping the boots was supposed to be a throwback to the Phoenix costume. Logan's would have to be made more movie friendly (since it looks like a jumpsuit hah!).

These were inspired by X1 with the black and colored accents. I would want the costumes to be more intricate in the movies, but I think they're a good start!

Now that I like. The Wolverine outfit really works.

If the future part of the movie starts all post-apocalyptic, I completely see them throwing that uniform at Rogue, the others look like wishful comic book movie thinking, but I don't think you're that far off what Rogue is going to look like in this movie.

I remember those Alex Ross designs from way back. I always thought they were pretty sweet, though I don't think every character needs a hood.

That manip is sweet. Perfect colours on Rogue, Colossus, and Wolverine.

I think in particular Rogue and Cyke look great. And Storm fits in so nicely!

Slapping the brown jacket on Rogue makes her look so much like her comic counterpart. I don't think they'll have uniforms in the future world that are all matchy like in the OT, so the brown jacket on top of whatever she ends up wearing will be perfect for her!

I definitely want to see some better and more creative ways to interpret their comic costumes. I'm not super into all of them in different colors, but they don't all need to be in the same, boring head-to-toe black uniforms either.

But they can provide the winged cape, high heeled boots (because Storm glides and flies and doesn't have to run!).

Storm definitely needs to be in high heels for DoFP. Halle Berry isn't exactly a "shorty" at 5'6. If they put her in 4 or 5 inch heels she can easily reach comic Storm's height. I hated that she was flat-footed for X3, it just made Hugh even taller by comparison (which we all know those two particular size roles are significantly reversed in the 616).

Seriously! Sometimes the OT production was so lazy. I know the actresses have to do action, but just change the footwear for the stunts!

Agreed. I must say...I have NEVER liked the leather uniforms. Even back in 2000 when the first film came out I thought they were cheesy but would be gone by time X2 arrived. Whodathunk it'd be 13 years later and we're JUST now getting a major change?

I don't mind the leather, but it doesn't all have to be all boring and the same. This is a costume that I really like for Rogue:

It could all be done in leather but still look interesting and individual. (Now that I think about it, it would make a kickass Storm costume if it had a different accent color.)

I just imagine that in the future scenes, the X-Men will be rebels or prisoners... not a lot of time for overt sexiness but maybe some sexy shredded rags (which Rogue always wore in the comics haha). But if they're rebels, they should have cloaks and stuff when they're in hiding. Rogue can just remove the hood/cape when she's in battle and then we'll both be happy!

But there are going to be Sentinels, so it'll definitely be a different world.

Sentinels are their new opponents but it doesn't mean the world they are living is suddenly a very different world compare to the original trilogy/The Wolverine. Of course when the Sentinels are around, there will be destruction but I don't think their environment will look like its the end of the world
