Really enjoyed that video. SF has a great history and I really hope it's back on Xbox with SF VI.

I hope so, too.

glad Xbox is getting the Collection, though.

I really want to play the Alpha games cuz I never really had a chance to play those.

speaking of collections, it would be nice if we could get a collection of the Capcom VS games in one collection.

I'm sure a few of the older SF games are available on XBox Arcade, will have to check which ones. I didn't get into the Alpha games and SF3 as much as the others.

oh, I saw an article today saying the YouTube app on the X and S has been updated to support 4K playback.

Yeah no wonder I wasn’t thinking the Infinity War trailer looked that much better on my big screen! Will have to try again now if it’s been updated. I didn’t even realise it wasn’t set up for 4K already.

^ yeah, let me know if it works.

I don't think the YouTube app on my Pro does 4K, but I'm not sure how I can tell......lol.

Mine just updated a few minutes ago, so the update is live.

What is it you do again? Download 4K videos to a USB stick?

good to know, thanks.

yes. I do that on my computer. I use YouTube vid downloading apps to save the file to my computer then transfer it to a USB stick to watch on my TV.

And the stick goes into your PS4?

Where do you get the music?

I often download them from Youtube, too. the same video downloader apps I use for videos usually let you convert the file to mp3 if it's just music.

or else I rip CDs on my computer and save them as mp3 files.

and then transfer the mp3 files to the USB stick.

Is tha better quality than watching the videos on YouTube?

I guess it would be the same?

the apps usually give the option to choose the video resolution/file size before you download. so if you want the highest quality video, you can choose the highest resolution available.

I haven't been downloading much lately, though. especially 4K stuff. since I'm trying to conserve my data cap.

I was just trying to understand the idea of doing that rather than just directly watching it on youtube. Could be something I'm interested in but I think I'm missing something.

nah. I don't think you're missing anything if you watch it directly on youtube. it's all a matter of preference/convenience.

the reason why I started downloading vids was because I wanted to watch movie trailers on my big screen tv. And I didn't want to wait for the vids to load each time or deal with constant start/stop/buffering ( which often happens with my internet speed ). Also, at the time, my computer couldn't really run 1080p videos well, so to watch the highest resolution, I needed a way to watch them offline and off my computer and on my tv.

and so I just got used to it and kind of kept that habit - even though my computer and internet speeds have since been upgraded.

but now, there are more smart devices to watch YouTube on tv and those devices are faster and more powerful. Also, if you have high speed internet and high/no data cap, like you do, then you probably wouldn't have to worry about loading times, buffering, etc.

so really, it's a matter of preference and which way you find more convenient.

Hmm, I guess sometimes things can pause due to internet when streaming rather than viewing a download. A hard copy should be better overall. I think this might be a good idea for my favourite trailers for eg. Do you know if I can download directly from the Xbox youtube to a USB stick or the hard drive or would I probably need to do it from pc?

yeah, if you download them to a file, you can store and organize the files however you want.

I don't believe there is a way to download directly from the Xbox youtube to a USB stick or hard drive. you probably have to use your pc.

here is the main app I use on my pc to download stuff. I also use this to download any 4K stuff.

A secondary program ( and the one I used originally ) is this one. I also use this more for my music files, though I think the 4K downloader app can convert to mp3, too.

Basically, for either one, you copy the YouTube url, then use the paste button within the app.

of course, with these free apps, be careful of them trying to set you up with freeware when you install. and of course, be careful of any viruses or malware.

Oh right thanks for those. Will give them a try

no prob.

and if you do download some 4K video files, could you try them out on your X to see if the Media app can play them now and let me know?

thanks, man!

The old XBox memory sticks wont work in a pc I guess? Just don't think I've got any USB sticks here. Guess I'll go and buy one. I'd quite like to make a Youtube playlist of 4K trailers and film clips that doesn't depend on the internet. Something I've always wanted to actually.

not sure about the old Xbox memory sticks.

but any off the shelf USB stick ( like Sandisk ) should work. here in the States, they're always on sale at places like Best Buy.

Oh they're pretty cheap on Amazon and there are some cool novelty ones on there. ;)
