Pretty sure it's any boxed retail title, so yes, that includes Arkham Knight.

including batman arkham knight. so same spiel as when destiny was released.

Destiny was aligned with the PS4 and there was a limited edition White Destiny PS4.

Batman: AK is also aligned with the PS4 and there is a limited edition Batman PS4.

both release weeks were the weeks where MS offered the Buy a Console Get A Game Free deal.

hmmmm........I sense a pattern. :o

and i'm sure mS will do it again come blops 3 & star wars releases.

BLOPS is timed exclusive maps like the Xbox versions did last gen. Don't know about Stars Wars, though. Not sure how that's equated to a bundle, though?

neither is, but it's exclusive playstation stuff to a multiplatform title. in order to entice the owners of the system that doesn't sport the dlc, mS can make the free like they're doing and did with the competition's bundles

but it seems like MS runs this deal when a limited edition PS4 console/bundle is released.

Yeah, exactly. I don't know why one would expect the same treatment for timed DLC?
because the dlc gives console owners more incentive to get the game on that console. to combat that incentive the competition could offer the game free with buying the other console.

I don't know, maybe, but I don't think they'll do that. Especially around that same time they'll have Halo 5 and Tomb Raider, neither of which they'll want to give away for free probably.

isn't there a bundle with both of those games coming?

I think there's a rumored one for Halo 5, but I don't know what matters to what I said?

console exclusive dlc isn't the same level as a limited edition console/bundle.

they might run some other kind of promotion, but I don't know about the Free Game deal.
I guess we'll see. since it seems sony has the marketing rights for those games I don't know what other kind of promotion they'd pull off.

well I mean you said they probably won't give away the games for free, I think they will.

I doubt either of those potential bundles will give the game away free anyway. They'll probably be hiked up $20-30 in price.

I dunno man. For every major xbone bundle they've been giving away the games for free. titanfall, halo, asscreed, I can see them making these free as well.

Titanfall wasn't free was it? I thought it and the COD bundle was hiked a bit. But either way, it doesn't really matter to what I was saying originally anyway, wasn't talking about giving it away in bundles.

Also, don't think a lot of people are following the thread, so I'll post this here: if you pre-order Rare Replay on the Microsoft Store, you get a $10 Xbox card after release.

Im with Tron. Halo 5 is their biggest title to date and the series was a system seller for the Xbox 1 and 360. I think they'll want to maximize profits and giving it away for free defeats that purpose. I see a promotion where its discounted but not a scenario where it doesnt add to the cost of the already existing X1s. I think a bundle with a $0 Halo 5 will sell as much as one with it being $20-30. Heck they might even make the console with a LE paint on it and not have it discounted at all, bc that in and of itself is a premium that devout Halo fans would go for

I guess it depends on the priority, making money from Halo 5 or making less and selling a load more consoles. I think they're both viable strategies depending on what outcome they prefer. I'm not very price sensitive on hardware but I think most are and I also think many Halo guys have not made the jump to X1 yet (either still on 360 or jumped ship to PS4). This could be the time to get a lot of them back.

titanfall was free. it was $500 with the kinect. I remember the ads saying "buy xbone: get titanfall." I thought you were originally saying mS wasn't doing it
