No, most don't have the batteries. Mainly the RPGs. But you can send them in or do it yourself. It's not hard to do. I've done a few myself. But nowadays, I just play on emulators on my Wii. Saves space, and you don't have to hook up different systems. Plus, I have adapters, so I can still use my original NES and SNES controllers.

I'll never let go of my 360. I just have way too many games I know I'll wanna revisit again. It's been one of the best consoles I've ever owned. Right up there with the NES and SNES.

I couldn't really argue with U on that. I loved the 360. Last gen is when I truly felt I became a "gamer". My sis still has her 360 and I did keep some of my fav games, but honestly space was the biggest reason I had to dump it. In the last few months Iv gotten super into collectibles and they take up space. Something had to give.

I'll be keeping my PS3 and 360 as there a handful of games I play on revisiting or playing for the first time. Maybe the next Xbox and PS5 will be at least compatible with 360 and PS3.

The amount of space Neca Predators take up on my shelf.. Is insane.. So I feel ya.

Amazon had (they took it down) a listing for the 1 TB Xbox One, with the new controller for 399.99.

do you think there's a chance they'll mark down the 1TB console to $350?

like they are doing now with the 500GB?

i think a price cut may be imminent come e3. although they are selling fine & better in fact than the competition.

xbone beat Ps4 two months ago. I think npd for may will release this week.

I doubt it. That would be an even bigger loss. I imagine they'll sell this at the Amazon listed MSRP (399.99), and keep the 500 GB model at 349.99 until it's phased out. That way the benefit from the existing price cut, without taking a hit on the new units.

Considering you now get it with a working Halo collection, it's a pretty good deal as it is.

Retailers are also still trying to unload all those Unity bundles nobody wanted, so you might be able to snag one of those for 300. That may be the worst selling bundle in recent console history.

mS has been taking losses basically ever since black friday last year. they can take it.

they want that win, that market share, more than they want the profit.

yeah. I think that's the likely scenario.

they will offer the 1TB for $400 and "officially" cut the 500GB to $350. perhaps even start gradually phasing the 500GB out.

and I think Sony will do the same when they release their 1TB for $400 and drop the 500GB to $350.

I think both 500GB models will be phased out in due time.

I do doubt we'll see a bigger HDD.

Perhaps the next iteration (the inevitable slim models) of the Xbone or the PS4 will use a hybrid drive, but I think they would still prioritize storage capacity over performance.

It'll probably be a 1 TB HDD with SATA III.

yeah. I don't think we'll be seeing bigger hdds either.

the upside to the PS4, though, is that when 2TB internal drives do become cheaper and more prevalent, you can always upgrade the internal drive of the PS4.

well, msrp is manufacturer's suggested retail price.

yeah. but once the 1TB model hits at $400, then I think the 500GB will officially drop to $350.

the retailers won't say it's on sale or $50 off anymore. they'll just list the price at $350.

and all this time i thought the $350 price tag was official and final.

The MSRP is 399 officially. However, Microsoft has told retailers to sell it for 349.99. That way they can still market it as a sale, even though the de facto MSRP is really 349.99.

You can find it on sale for 299.99 from time to time, since retailers want to get rid of that Assassin's Creed bundle no one wants.

I ended up buying Metro Redux since it's been on sale at Amazon for $20 for awhile now. Did some reading about it, sounded interested. Was kind of confused at first when I popped it in and it was asking me to chose two options. Somehow, despite actually reading stuff about this, I missed that it was actual a remastering collection of two games haha. It's good so far, though, with 2033 is.

and thats exactly whats happening. Considering you cant upgrade your X1 HDD, it seems like a no brainer to get the 1tb for only $50 more. Even at $350, the 500gb doesnt seem worth it considering you are locked in at that space internally.

yeah.

that's why I think the 500GB will be phased out soon.

Same with the 500GB PS4. I'm assuming Sony will follow suit with a similar pricing once they reveal the 1TB console.

Even though you can upgrade the PS4, for $50 more, you'd be able to get the model with a 1TB already installed.

so, like you said, it would be a no brainer to go for the 1TB model for both the X1 and PS4.

Major Nelson has officialized it.

Today, we’re unveiling the Xbox One 1TB console, with a new matte finish and more storage for your games and media. But that’s not all. We’re also including our newly designed Xbox One Wireless Controller, and in select regions for a limited time, Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The new Xbox One Wireless Controller now features a 3.5mm stereo jack that lets you plug a headset right into the controller. You’ll have the option to adjust headset volume, mic monitoring, and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on your console. In addition to audio improvements, we’ve fine-tuned the bumpers and enabled wireless firmware updates on the updated controller which eliminates having to connect the controller via USB cable to receive updates. What’s more, you can purchase the new controller ($64.99 U.S. MSRP) as a standalone item in black as well as a new camouflage design in silver and black with the Xbox One Special Edition Covert Forces Wireless Controller.
Xbox One 1TB consoles will start shipping to retailers June 16 in the United States and select markets later this month and will be available starting at $399 USD ERP. We’re also pleased to announce that starting today, the $349 USD price on all standard Xbox One 500GB consoles will be permanent in the United States and select regions.
And finally, we are happy to announce that starting this Fall, you’ll be able to purchase the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to enjoy the freedom and convenience of the wireless controller on Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and tablets. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 U.S. MSRP or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 U.S. MSRP and sold in most markets where Xbox accessories are currently available.

There's also a giveaway for Covert Forces controller at the link.

so it seems like the black finish on the new 1TB model is less shiny??
