Peoples tweets from journalists and fans alike who saw the clip at sdcc claimed 'Michele' liked Peter.

This photoshoot that is remiscent of Tobey/Kirsten's and Andrew/Emma's is another hint. They don't make villains leads unless the whole movie or show is about villains, and if a villain is a lead, it usually means the writers don't think of them like that and instead believes them to be multilayered ...think of Damon from The Vampire Diaries or Klaus from The Originals.

None of these should be ignored to make our own speculation plausible unless we think Marvel is gonna go for the scorned crush trope.

And can we not bring up that Michelle Gonzales spiel again. Zendaya is not Latina and therefore would not go for a Latino role, she cares about representation, and that is the end.

]Yes, usually most of the time chemistry tests are done for love interests, but they're used for other things also. Chemistry isn't always romantic. But, uh, ya know Zendaya literally said she was not a love interest.

Just because someone has a crush on a person in HS doesn't mean you can't grow to dislike them. Also, Peter and Spider-Man are separate.

Zendaya being on the cover with Tom does not mean she's a love interest or the female lead because she's not. They're both on the cover because she's a Disney star Zendaya heading into big motion pictures and Tom is the newest Marvel hero. This was for the Next Gen 35 under 35 issue, remember? If this was to showcase the romantic leads they would of chosen Laura Harrier. But they didn't because Harrier isn't very well known and isn't up and coming by Hollywood standards. This is HR not Teen Vogue or Seventeen, heck even they would use Z just because she's famous. Her character can be multilayered, we don't know. The villain is usually one of the leads, what are you talking about? Is Keaton not a lead? I was saying that Zendaya is not a lead currently. This is known info.

I don't think they're going for the scorned crush trope. In order for that to work Michelle would have to know that Peter is Spider-Man. I think they're going for the "I hate Spider-Man because he put a loved one away" trope.

On the chemistry test: I guarantee you this was done to make sure Zendaya had chemistry with Tom since her character likes Peter. She is not a love interest. Chemistry tests are also done for any type of love. Unrequited too.

Peter was smart enough to create a formula for webbing and create his own web shooters at one point or another. That's all that mattered to me. In TASM he has to buy webbing from Oscorp, which I found to be really lame.

They were going for the 'homemade' look, but it still looked like it was designed by Hollywood. Just poorly.

Tom Holland's homemade costume actually looks like a genuine homemade outfit made by a 15 year old. So Tony making his final costume removes the whole, "how did Peter design a Hollywood quality costume for himself"? I care more about the fact that Peter demonstrated his scientific genius in CW over his artistic ability in TASM.

For all we know, SMH could explain that Peter helped Tony come up with the suit design during the events of CW. Just an idea, but I doubt it.

EDIT: Peter also managed to use or create goggles that help him focus for his spider sense, further demonstrating his intelligence.

I'm in the minority but I think that costume looks amazing. Probably my second favorite Spidey costume (to Civil War/Homecoming because it captures the classic look).

And did that question really need to be addressed? Hardly anybody gave a crap how he made his costume. It's not even out of the realm of possibility since he has access to the internet, he can order the materials online. I think TASM1 handled that aspect quite nicely and realistically.. But even then, it's a movie, that's where you gotta suspend your disbelief. Speaking of disbelief, Civil War Peter can create infinitely more complicated Web fluid & Webshooters but he can't make a decent-looking costume?

If you like the costume then that's fine, but I consider it to be the worst on-screen costume out of the 5 that we've gotten. It looks like a basketball with yellow eyes.

Well, the rumor had it that she'd reveal her nickname (or what Pete can call her) as MJ. This would be after the dance? It's from LatinoReview so I mean, not exactly reliable.

This lead everyone to think (including myself, which I feared despite supporting the possibility of Z as Mary Jane) that she may be MJ but not Mary Jane -- so she'd be MJ without actually being MJ.

but that's not quite the same as what they might be trying to do with Zendaya. Is she really MJ? Is Michelle just a cover name? Will she be MJ but not actually Mary Jane?

They are playing coy with the casting of the character, trying to keep us guessing and in suspense - in hopes of giving us a big reveal/twist supposedly.

If she's actually MJ ( Mary Jane ), then just come out and confirm it. Don't call her "Michelle" or try to play coy with the casting.
