Sure, but i really really really hope she's not Mary Jane.

First, she is playing a character called "Michelle", and i don't believe she will be "Michelle Jane Watson".
Second, the all black thing, i don't think Peter will have two black girls love interest in a row.

The idea alone that she is playing MJ is frighting, it's so ridiculous it's not even funny.
If that happens, it can very well be Marvel's Clone Saga, and we all know the damage is brought to the Spider-Man brand.

But Spider-Man has had a black costume and a red and gold costume.

What this MJ is like is like Spider-Man being an alien from the planet Krypton who can fly, has heat vision, no spider powers, isn't a science genius, is named Clark Kent instead of Peter Parker but just has the same initials "SM".

But none of these attributes go to making Spider-Man who he is.

I have another theory of who Zandaya might be playing, and it's one that no one is expecting.
If it's not that, i go with MJ, in the most pathetic move by Marvel yet.

The problem with her playing MJ is having Peter dating two black girls.
Liz Allen is black in the movie, so, if MJ is also afro-american, that makes Peter having a black fetish.

But, because it seems that Marvel has no problem with changing characters race, i'm guessing they will not have any problem with changing gender as well.

So, Zandaya might be.......Michelle 'Miles' Morales.

This way, they don't fall on having two Spider-MAN, but rather a Spider-WOMAN.

What do you think?

Even more, Feige already said Morales is part of the MCU and Donald Glover plays Aaron Davis, which might mean that "Miles" is in the movie too.

I would be fine with that for two main reasons:

> I never read a book featuring Miles Morales, i only know him by some screens on the internet.
When i stopped reading Ultimate Spider-Man, he was still Peter Parker.
I have no connection to the character.

I'm not fine with:

> Having a second Spider-person right off the bat. It's stupid, it doesn't give Peter Parker enough time to shine.
But, then again, they pulled the same stunt with Bucky....and the movie was great, imo, the best Marvel movie to date.
And Marvel is much interested in making the Marvel Universe than to actually be true to the characters, that's why Iron Man is in the movie (sadly).

All in all, i say don't do it.....but it's light years better than making her Mary Jane

The joke was that he mistook Magic Johnson for Michael Jordan from behind. Michael Jordan is more famous than Magic and considered the GOAT, so it was an awkward moment for Peter but Magic didn't really notice. It was funny, and it had nothing to do with Mary Jane...

honestly.. i wouldn't be shocked if some people called it a fetish... the debates i've seen people rage on both ends over Iron Fist make them both seem foolish (and ironically most of them are white doing the raging)

that i can't agree with.. its not fair to fans of a character to have changed just because you don't care enough about them.. i hate it when people do that with characters i love.

It's not that i don't care, it's that i never read any book, i have no connection to him.

I understand the all debate about changing race and gender, the problem is that there isn't enough diversity in comic books due to them being created back in the 60s and before.
The problem is that people don't know who or how to change them, they think all changes are fair game and that if people don't like they are racist or misogynistic or any other crap (which is ridiculous).

Honestly, to change Miles is, imo, not the worst move, it's better than MJ...but, i'm more than fine to keep him a dude.

I didn't even know who the hell she was, I still don't really. Just that she was on Disney channel or something? Not a fan from what I've seen in the trailers. And it seems they're just throwing her in there as a diverse semi twist on MJ. Handling it in a very weird way IMO. If she was gonna be MJ just make her MJ.

She was always going to be someone important MJ or not.

You've yet to see the movie.

You've yet to see what kind of twists or developments they'll do with her.

Also if you think MJ is just simply a modelesque beauty queen, you clearly haven't read that many versions of her or only care about her looks. It's her personality that counts.

It's also the fact that she has been a simple girl next door who later was also able to be a beautiful model type in the Ultimate Universe.

Which is just about as John Hughes as you can get and this film was always upfront that it was taking cues from Hughes.

You have no reason to hate Zendaya as MJ right now. No ground to stand on. Well, at least not ground you want to stand on, because it's shaky at best and at worst, well you know.
