I don't know who is Bella Hadid, but I was thinking MJ could be like girls like Carmella Rose who have ended up as fashion models but started on Instagram and Tumblr. I tried to find one of her that wasn't too glammed up:

MJ should be like that. In fact, Carmella Rose has a pretty perfect look for MJ, but I doubt she's an actress. But that would be the sort of look I'd want for MJ.

But the point is that even when she's not dolled up, she should still look pretty and confident with sass, and not some dry and awkward character who probably wouldn't even go on Instagram. MJ seems like someone who would be concerned with maintaining her popularity and image and getting as much exposure on social media. And Instagram is the perfect place for painting this ideal image of her life through pictures which isn't even a reality, because who knows how many times a girl has actually posed for a "casual" selfie or "candid" photo?

and they could have gone a similar route with Zendaya, without turning her into frumpy, awkward, dry whatever.......

Marvel loves to keep secrets, they do it everytime so Zendaya could be anyone.
I think she's gonna be Kate Bishop and the reason they would want to keep it a secret is to suprise the fans (she's Hawkeye 2.0 after all) and also to not piss off the fans before the movie release (because that would be mean 2 characters were taken from Miles stories).

What drugs are you on, son? Gwen has always been depicted as popular in comics. The deviation of the norm is the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and before that, the one from the Ultimate Universe.

She's a very beautiful girl and certainly has the MJ esque fun personality we've seen from her in interviews, but if she is MJ, with the way they've made her look and act, then wow they are going for a radically different look/personality for her.

If she's Kate Bishop then I can see a future movie were she teams up with Spider-man.

Ok, but it's going to be an adaptation so they could just be taking elements from Ultimate. If they're introducing Kate Bishop then I really doubt that Marvel wouldn't make her into a superhero eventually.

Yes you said that already, and I said that they could be adapting parts of her Ultimate character but now she does become a superhero in the MCU. She doesn't have to follow exactly the same path as Ultimate Kate Bishop.

With everything else they've changed, she fits more with that pattern as MJ than as another character. Even Harry Osborn looking normal and like the actual character would seem odd now. He's more likely to look like Randy Robertson.
