A popular theory going around now is the symbiote is an organism from a meteor or space rock brought back by John Jameson ( a la Spidey TAS). That explanation seems a bit of of character for Raimi who gave us organic web shooters and a static Goblin mask because the comic versions were too far fetched. On the other hand, explaining the Sandman's powers are going to be quite tough as it is.

So my question for discussion is this: How will Raimi explain a sentient black blob which is uncannily attracted to Peter Parker?

Nanotech experiments ( perhaps tied with Sandman's origin)?

Alien life form?

Radioactive Coke Blak?

Dr. Connors regenerative experiments (paving the way for Lizard in IV)?

The original mutated spider that got away but kept on mutating (explaining the attraction to Peter)?

Discuss and play nice.

i think in spiderman3 the alien symbiote should come from a meteore.

I prefer the moon one it would make for a better story and how would they do the meteor one if they decide to use that.

they both are cool theories.

And besides everything is leading up to that moon theory btw since spidey2 with Eddie preparing to go to the moon.

yeah its possible maybe they wil go to the moon.it would be awesome if it came from the moon same for the metore the theory of the the moon one is awesome that will follow the story alot better. if the meteore came that would also follow the story i like both theorys.

^Yeah and Eddie will be so pissed at MJ for leaving him at the alter.

Yup would explain why he might probably up and go to the moon without telling anyone.

except a so called Q&A supported the meteor theory.

i think the meteore theory is very cool i like it alot the theory of john jamiesn bringing back the symbiote to earth on the space shuttle is awesome to the good thing about the metore theory is that it works alot better with the movies and the good thing about the moon theory is that it follows the comics.

Only the "meteor theory" isn't really a theory. Its what the Q&A said.
