you can still hear the nightclub music outside when batman is about to drop maroni off the building

when joker is on top of the pile of money and he puts his hand on laus head, lau turns away and you can see his breath as he breaths...must have been cold in there

when dent says "funny i dont know whats gonna happen to you either" when he raises his eyebrow, his cg brow bone rises too

Right before Gambol's guy hits the pencil, if you look REAL closely you can see the guy move the pencil out of the way (kinda out of frame) when the camera pans up from the pencil to Joker.

"HANDS UP PRETTY BOY!"

*knocks the guy out, grabs the gun, dismantles it and continues to walk in one single smooth motion*

WHY SO AMERICAN PSYCHO?
That was so badass!

I noticed that as well, and it made me happy. I was trying to figure out how they did it after first viewing since it was one shot, and i thought fakepencil, hole in desk, cg pencil and then i saw the hand motion and I was like ZOMG!!!! Nothing beats K.I.S.S!

I dont know of this is mensioned before probably yes but if you watch closely at the prologue/intro,you can see when the guy is trying to open the volt when the other one enters, that his shoes are of and he's trying to open the volt with is shoes !!! :woot: sorry for my bad english.

hmm in the finale, when Joker sics His dogs on batman, you can see batman is wearing huge arm protector things, i have no idea what they are called, but its to protect you when dogs bite you and stuff... its very noticible for a second right when the dogs first jump on him, batmans gauntlets are 5 times to big for him haha.

Why is Maroni allowed not only in the hospital, but mere steps away from Dent's room? No matter if he set it up or not, Maroni is implicated as having people in Gordon's unit, and these people being responsible for Dent & Rachel's capture, something Dent was well aware of way back in the beginning of the film. Regardless of his actual role in the kidnappings, this is still the biggest mob figure in Gotham, why in the hell would cops let Maroni just hang out around Dent's room?

I'm also wondering why Maroni tried to give up the Joker's location? He seems to really be distraught when he addresses Gordon in the hospital, but why? Harvey tried to put Sal in prison for life, why would he care if he was almost blown up, and conversely, why give up the Joker's whereabouts? He obviously was supposed to meet up with him and the Chechen to recover the money, so what's the deal?

These questions should go in the ask a question thread

Probably, but it's birthed from additional viewings, so I felt it was also relevant here, as are plenty of other questions people have posed, but I digress

Maroni had a broken foot/ankle, it makes sense for him to be in the hospital. As for being near Dents room? Whats so strange about that? Maroni hasn't been convicted of anything at this point and there is enough police around to keep an eye on him.

And Maroni is distraught, he knows what the Joker has done. Joker has usurped him, has taken over everything. And i also suspect that Maroni knew what was going to happen if he did meet Joker.

Maroni wasn't convicted because he had alot of people on the take, not because of any presumed innocence, that's how his foot got broke in the first place. Everyone knows he's guilty of everything, they just haven't got him yet. I don't think a person like that commands any type of respect in a hospital housing a counselor that tried to put him away. That would've been like letting John Gotti come visit one of the prosecutors of his numerous cases, hardly becoming of any respectful police department.

And while the Joker may very well have made him uneasy, which is apparent since their first meeting, he's also like all the other mob figures, all he cared about was money, why not try to recover it? He also allowed, presumably, the Joker to use his connects in Gordon's unit to capture Dent in the first place, they must have had some kind of relationship, no?

Good point about the hospital thing.

But no, I don't think Maroni allowed Joker to do anything. Joker just did it anyway. Joker hijacked the mob, thusly having access to Maroni's moles. And yea Maroni wanted his money, but what i'm trying to say is that Maroni knew (unlike poor Chechen) that Joker was just going to kill them both anyway. I think he knew that if he went to meet Joker, it would be the last thing he does.

I never got when Maroni told Gordon The Joker's location too. What point is it? Nobody finds him in the warehouse, nobody does anything about it.

Agreed, now that I think about it, the Chechen was the only one who took the Joker serious in the beginning, so it only makes sense that he would be blind to his true intentions. Maroni does seem a bit smarter, and a lot more traditional, than the other gangsters. He had that honor and respect the Bank Manager was spouting off about, so I can see him setting the Joker up now. Ahhhhhh, it all comes together :woot:

They were going to get Joker there--but this was before the Joker changed his plans and made the blow-up-a-hospital threat (and the Mr Reese one too)

Yep. The cops were getting ready to storm the Jokers location but then if you remember Stephens saying "Hey Jim, look at this" about the Gotham Tonight show and the Joker broadcasts his threat.

things you noticed in the movie.. not a picture

Maroni wanted to get rid of the Joker. Even for a gangster like him, he felt the Joker was taking it too far.

Thus they were going to capture The Joker. Remember the scene with Gordon and the MCU where they were prepping to raid the warehouse.

GORDON: "I want Lau alive, the Joker...either way."

It wasn't until the Joker made his threat on live television to blow up a hospital, that Gordon and co. scrapped those plans...evacuating the hospitals and protecting Resse became the priority.

Yea the Chechen seemed like he respected Joker. (note the impressed look after the pencil trick). He was also the one who said to Maroni that they should hire the clown to solve real problem, Bathman. :D

I also thought it was funny when Chechen turned up where the money was. "Hey Joker man, what you do with all your money?" HAHA makes me chuckle.

Lol, yeah I enjoyed his role throughout, although some felt he was a bit over the top, I thought he was pretty hilarious most of the time.

I also think that respect he showed the Joker initially is why the Joker actually got the money and let him live long enough to...ahem..ask to borrow his men. He could've just killed him like Gambol and left Lau in the MCU, it's not like the Joker wanted the money for himself. He probably would've let the Chechen work for him, until he said the dreaded "F" word again :csad: I also think it's funny how the Joker took his dogs, and somehow, they listen to him. Guess he was right about animal loyalty

The GPD sucks at doing its job. That's all you need to know. Maroni might've paid someone to allow him near Dent. Besides, he's an old-school gangster, and they usually pay people to kill for them, so the cops might've figured Dent wasn't in any real danger.

I'm also wondering why Maroni tried to give up the Joker's location? He seems to really be distraught when he addresses Gordon in the hospital, but why? People have given good answers above, but it could be that Rachel's murder has brought so much heat down on Maroni that he feels the only way out is to help catch the Joker. It's also possible that Maroni had his own plan for getting his money back. The GPD is corrupt and some of that money could've gotten "lost" on the way to evidence and found its way back to Maroni.
